Liberals lost their minds when Donald Trump announced he would end birthright citizenship.
So-called journalists and Democrats thundered that Trump’s move was unconstitutional.
But Barack Obama knew better and instantly realized he committed one mistake that made this possible.
Donald Trump Announces He Will End Birthright Citizenship
Trump rocked Washington when he revealed to Axios that he was ending birthright citizenship for illegal aliens.
He tweeted out his reasons:
So-called Birthright Citizenship, which costs our Country billions of dollars and is very unfair to our citizens, will be ended one way or the other. It is not covered by the 14th Amendment because of the words “subject to the jurisdiction thereof.” Many legal scholars agree…..
….Harry Reid was right in 1993, before he and the Democrats went insane and started with the Open Borders (which brings massive Crime) “stuff.” Don’t forget the nasty term Anchor Babies. I will keep our Country safe. This case will be settled by the United States Supreme Court!
The media stomped their feet and threw a temper tantrum.
So-called journalists claimed Trump couldn’t do this.
Fake news CNN even claimed he planned on defying the Constitution.
But Trump had a response.
Trump declared he could end birthright citizenship through executive order.
He cited Obama using executive orders to create the DACA amnesty program.
“Birthright citizenship is a very, very important subject. In my opinion, it’s much less complex than people think, it says it loud and clear, in the Constitution, that you don’t have to go through the process of whatever they’re talking about. And by the way, this is not a constitutional amendment,” Trump told reporters.
Donald Trump Cites Barack Obama
Trump explained that, “You don’t need a constitutional amendment, birthright citizenship. I believe that you could have a simple vote in Congress, or it’s even possible in my opinion, this is after meeting with some very talented legal scholars, that you can do it through an executive order.”
“I’d rather do it through Congress, because that’s permanent. But we can certainly do it through, I really believe we can do it through executive order,” Trump continued. “One other thing, if President Obama can get DACA approved, if you look at DACA where he actually said, well, this isn’t legal or this I can’t do but I’ll do it anyway, and then he gets a judge to approve it, and it’ll ultimately be decided by the Supreme Court, I hope quickly. But certainly, if he can do DACA we can do this by executive order.”
However, Trump said he believes Congress will take action to end birthright citizenship.
“With that being said, I think Congress will ultimately act. But I may very well do it by executive order. So you understand, a person comes in, was never in our country before, has a baby, and now all of a sudden the baby is a U.S. citizen and through chain migration and other things many other people come in through the baby,” Trump declared.
