Democrats are putting it all on the line to win the 2018 election.
The left is leaving nothing to chance.
And Barack Obama announced this awful plan to rig the American elections.
The 2018 elections are crucial for more than just who controls Congress.
87 state legislatures in 46 states will be up for grabs.
And 36 states will hold gubernatorial elections.
Winning control of Congress is the marquee race in 2018, but who wins control of the legislature and Governor’s mansions are even more important.
That’s because 2020 is the once-a-decade census that will determine state House and Congressional district maps for the next ten years.
And who wins control of state House and Governor’s mansions will have the inside track to setting up the political map until 2030.
That’s because Governors serve four year terms – except for a few states like New Hampshire where they hold office for two years – and sitting state legislators have a leg up in re-election because of the power of incumbency.
This helps explain why Barack Obama has made ending so-called “partisan gerrymandering” his new political crusade.
The former President appeared in a video for the National Democratic Redistricting Committee – which is run by race-baiting former Attorney General Eric Holder – to push the case for voters to elect Democrats in November.
Obama claimed Republicans were “cheating” by drawing maps that allowed Republicans who support “tax breaks for the most powerful, the gun lobby and environmental polluters,” to win elections despite not having the support of a majority of the people because the maps were rigged.
Liberals want “nonpartisan commissions” or judges to draw district maps because those institutions invariably lean left and draw maps that cement Democrat victories.
A perfect example of the Democrats plan in action was in Pennsylvania.
Republicans won control of the state legislature fair and square and drew Congressional district maps as was their right under the state Constitution.
Democrats sued and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court redrew the map increasing the number of Congressional districts won by Hillary Clinton from five in 2016 to eight in the upcoming 2018 midterm elections.
The left wants to plant the seeds of their stranglehold on American politics with a massive victory in the 2018 midterms.
While pundits would focus on what a Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and a Speaker Nancy Pelosi would mean for President Trump, the real work would be done undercover at the state level.
Democrat Governors would reject any maps drawn by GOP legislatures after the 2020 election and they would grease the passage of maps drawn by Democrat-held legislative bodies.
And as much as the Democrats complained about GOP maps, they would be ruthless in snuffing out Republican incumbents with unfair maps.
That’s because Democrats don’t have to worry about lawsuits.
Since their base contains more minority voters, they can sue on the basis of racial discrimination to win maps that are drawn more to their favor.
The Republican Party’s base consists mainly of white voters, so the lawsuit option is not available to the GOP.
Obama’s new plan is flying under the radar, but it is a clear danger to every Republican in America.
