Barack Obama was furious when Donald Trump won the Presidency.
Obama seethed and plotted behind closed doors to sabotage Trump.
And Obama took this sick revenge on Trump that is his worst betrayal ever.
The choice in the 2016 election was clear.
Hillary Clinton ran on enacting a third term of Barack Obama’s agenda.
Donald Trump ran on erasing every aspect of Obama’s failed policies.
The American people settled this referendum on the Obama Presidency by electing Trump.
And from Day One, Trump has worked to make good on his promises.
Central to that goal was dismantling Obamacare.
Since John McCain stabbed President Trump in the back on the “skinny repeal” vote, the President set about using his executive authority to gut Obamacare.
But Obama still owns one powerful firewall to stop President Trump from making good on his campaign promise.
And that secret weapon is the Democrat Party sleeper-cell activists Obama installed on the federal bench.
When Democrats ran the Senate in 2013, then-Majority Leader Harry Reid eliminated the filibuster on Circuit and District Court judges so Obama could pack the bench with loyalists who would thwart any challenges to his unconstitutional and un-American agenda.
Obama’s rogue gallery of partisan judges came through when U.S. District Court Judge James Boasberg struck down Kentucky and Arkansas’s work requirements as part of the Obamacare Medicaid expansion.
“The Court cannot concur that the Medicaid Act leaves the [HHS] Secretary so unconstrained, nor that the states are so armed to refashion the program Congress designed in any way they choose,” Boasberg wrote.
In another case, an Obama judge struck down President Trump’s executive order reversing Barack Obama’s ban on oil drilling in parts of the Arctic and Atlantic Oceans.
U.S. District Court Judge Sharon Gleason wrote, “The wording of President Obama’s 2015 and 2016 withdrawals indicates that he intended them to extend indefinitely, and therefore be revocable only by an act of Congress.”
This is a common sequence of events in the Trump era.
President Trump takes executive action to roll back the disastrous executive actions Barack Obama took.
Liberal activists then race to the nearest Obama judge and file suit.
Predictably, the Obama judge then rules Trump’s executive actions are unconstitutional and issues a nationwide injunction stymieing the Trump policy.
The judge’s reasoning for the decision typically boils down to this: Barack Obama’s policies are protected in perpetuity and it’s unconstitutional for Donald Trump to be President.
But this “judge shopping” doesn’t always pay off.
President Trump holds the advantage on the Supreme Court.
However, it does grind the gears of Donald Trump’s policy agenda to a halt.
And delay is every bit the goal as anything else.
Democrats – and their activists on the bench – are betting their chips on defeating Trump in the 2020 election.
If that happens, the Obama judges who stopped Trump’s agenda won’t face any overturned decisions at the Supreme Court.
That’s because Trump’s Democrat successor will order the Justice Department to drop all appeals of these cases.
