The media jumped at the chance to use the tragedy in Parkland, Florida to push gun control.
They live for exploiting these moments to push their anti-gun agenda.
But one bombshell revelation about the horrific event just changed everything.
Democrats and their partners in the media immediately blamed the Second Amendment for a deranged killer’s act of madness.
They immediately launched into a push to disarm Americans and expand a national gun registration database as another step toward their ultimate goal of the confiscation of every firearm in America.
But facts are getting in the way of the media and Democrats anti-gun narrative.
The FBI was warned twice about the killer, but did nothing.
And now Americans have learned that the police officer who was on duty at Marjory Stone Douglas High School did not go into the school to confront the killer.
Instead, he took up a defensive position outside the building and waited for up to four minutes while the killer gunned down 17 innocents.
The Florida Sun Sentinel reports:
“The police officer assigned to Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School resigned Thursday, under investigation for failing to enter the building as a gunman opened fire and killed 17 people.
Sheriff Scott Israel said Deputy Scot Peterson should have “went in. Addressed the killer. Killed the killer.” Video footage showed Peterson did none of that, Israel said…
… The sheriff said video shows Peterson was outside the building for “upwards of four minutes” while students were gunned down inside.
“What I saw was a deputy arrive … take up a position and he never went in,” the sheriff said at a news conference. “There are no words. I mean these families lost their children. We lost coaches,” Israel said.”
This failure was compounded by the news that two Broward County deputies were suspended for how they handled two reports about Cruz’s behavior.
The Sun Sentinel also reports:
“The sheriff’s office also said Thursday that two deputies were put under investigation for how they handled potential warnings about Cruz, including one from November in which a caller said Nikolas Cruz “could be a school shooter in the making.”
This tragedy was preventable, but law enforcement failed.
A gunman did not murder 17 innocents because of a lack of gun control.
NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch tweeted that the Broward County Sheriff sat on stage with her at the CNN anti-gun town hall and called for more gun control despite the fact that he knew his deputies had failed to act to prevent the shooting.
Additionally, @browardsheriff sat on that stage with me last night fully aware that his deputy had been outside and armed while this madman had four minutes to massacre — and said NOTHING.

The government – which failed to defend children from a killer – is now demanding to disarm American citizens and prevent them from defending their families.
Gun control would not solve this problem. It would only put more Americans at the mercy of a madman as they hope and pray law enforcement can respond in time.
