President Trump just scored one of the biggest victories of the year.
And no one was even paying attention to it.
What the Supreme Court just handed him was a win that will leave the far left reeling for years to come, and it’s all thanks to Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
President Donald Trump’s most enduring legacy from his time in office has been all the judicial nominations he’s made.
And since taking the oath of office two and a half years ago, he’s managed to appoint two separate Supreme Court justices to lifetime terms on the nation’s highest court.
Those justices, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, have been instrumental in reshaping the composition of the Supreme Court in a more conservative direction.
And there’s no greater evidence of that than from the latest Supreme Court ruling that was just handed down, delivering to President Trump one of his greatest victories of the year.
Fox News reports, “In a major win for the Trump administration, the Supreme Court issued an order late Wednesday ending all injunctions that had blocked the White House’s ban on asylum for anyone trying to enter the U.S. by traveling through a third country, such as Mexico, without seeking protection there.”
This is huge.
It’s a massive win for President Trump and a crushing defeat for Democrats across the nation who vowed they would block his efforts to enact the new asylum rules.
What’s more, it’s a sign that the Supreme Court is moving in a decisively conservative direction under President Trump’s watch.
“The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals – long a liberal bastion that has been aggressively reshaped into a more moderate court by the Trump administration – handed the White House a partial victory in the case on Monday by ending the nationwide injunction against the asylum policy. However, the 9th Circuit kept the injunction alive within the territorial boundaries of the circuit, which encompasses California, Arizona, Alaska, Hawaii, Montana, Nevada, Idaho, Guam, Oregon and Washington.”, adds Fox News.
“The Supreme Court’s order was not a final ruling on the policy’s merits but does allow the policy to take effect nationwide, including in the 9th Circuit, while the case makes its way through the lower courts.”
For Trump, the Court’s ruling is as good of a decision as he could have hoped for.
And what’s more, it’s allowed him to claim to the voters that he’s making good on his promises to tackle the issue of illegal immigration head on in the lead up to the 2020 elections.
With this win, Trump can make the case that electing him for another four-year term will result in even more progress on the southern border being made.
And he’ll also have the chance to appoint even more conservatives to the Supreme Court to defend his actions as President in the process.
