Democrats seized on the latest sexual misconduct allegations against Brett Kavanaugh to call for his impeachment.
Momentum quickly built to remove Kavanaugh from the bench.
And Brett Kavanaugh’s life got turned upside down by one shocking reality check.
When anti-Kavanaugh New York Times reporters Robin Pogrebin and Kate Kelly published an essay in the New York Times about the hit piece book entitled “The Education of Brett Kavanaugh: An Investigation”, Democrats couldn’t believe their good fortune.
Kelly and Pogrebin included a brand new allegation of sexual misconduct against Kavanaugh from his college days that led many Democrats to conclude Kavanaugh lied under oath during his confirmation hearings and that the only remedy was impeachment.
Leading Presidential candidates like Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, and Kamala Harris all called for Kavanaugh’s impeachment.
Former Vice President Joe Biden did not go that far, but Biden demanded another investigation into this allegation of sexual harassment from Kavanaugh’s time at Yale.
Republicans were thrown on the defensive.
But within 24 hours, fortunes reversed.
Mollie Hemmingway of The Federalist caught the Times running fake news.
Hemmingway pointed out that in “The Education of Brett Kavanaugh”, Pogrebin and Kelly note that the female student they claim Kavanaugh harassed had no memory of the incident ever occurring.
Americans realized the New York Times omitted crucial information because the paper was locked into an ideological crusade blinded by partisan hatred to destroy Brett Kavanaugh and they did not care if they needed to publish purposefully false and misleading information to do so.
As quickly as the Democrats’ enthusiasm for impeaching Kavanaugh built, it evaporated even faster.
Within 48 hours of the New York Times being exposed for running fake news, Chuck Schumer and his fellow Democrat congressional leaders strained to pretend the story never existed.
During a press conference with reporters, Schumer never once mentioned Kavanaugh’s name.
When pressed why Schumer tried to move past this embarrassment of the party, Schumer responded, “Look, I’ve said this before, very simply. I never thought Kavanaugh should be on the bench, and I still don’t today.”
Illinois Democrat Dick Durbin – the number two Democrat in the Senate – slammed the door on any Kavanaugh talk.
“You know, it’s become a knee-jerk reaction among many Democrats that if you’re unhappy with President Trump or some of his appointments, impeachment is a recourse. It’s rare in American history,” Durbin explained to reporters.
“I just don’t believe that this is what we should be doing at this point. I mean, I voted against the man; I don’t believe he should be on the Supreme Court,” Durbin continued.
Any articles of impeachment against Brett Kavanaugh would originate in the House Judiciary Committee.
But Chairman Jerry Nadler made it clear his committee would not spend one second on a fruitless quest to impeach Kavanaugh.
“We are concentrating our resources on determining whether to impeach the president,” Nadler declared during a local New York City radio show.
Democrat activists and some politicians fly off the handle on insane freak-outs about Brett Kavanaugh, because to the left, Kavanaugh is the lasting consequence of Donald Trump’s election.
Liberals do not view President Trump’s victory as legitimate so any bill Trump signs into law or any nomination Trump makes as President is therefore illegitimate.
