President Donald Trump’s upcoming meeting with Kim Jong Un is going to be historic.
It could even bring peace between the United States and North Korea.
But a crazy thing that China just did could sink any chances at peace and begin a major war.
President Donald Trump is hopeful about his upcoming meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.
He believes he will know within one minute of speaking with Kim if he is actually interested in peace.
If Trump believes he is interested in peace, he will work with the leader to craft a deal that is good for the entire world.
Reportedly included in that deal is encouraging American cultural icons like the restaurant chain McDonald’s to open locations in North Korea.
This would be huge for Kim Jong Un, who is known to admire many parts of American culture, particularly their sports, which is a big reason he became friends with retired basketball icon Dennis Rodman.
But while most of the world is welcoming this move towards peace, what China is doing could cause it all to spiral out of control.
Chinese authorities have blocked any internet searches and all articles that are critical of Kim Jong Un.
This comes just days after they offered a full fighter jet escort for Kim on his way to Singapore to meet with President Donald Trump.
While this move is claimed to have good intentions, a blocking of critical articles of North Korea’s leader shows that they have a clear bias during negotiations.
It will also make fair reporting on the historic meeting between Kim Jong Un and President Donald Trump impossible in China.
If Kim Jong Un refuses to negotiate fairly with President Trump, it will not be a recognized fact in China, who are extremely relevant in President Trump’s pursuit of peace around the world.
China, along with the mainstream media has been highly critical of President Trump’s strategy with North Korea.
But despite their criticism, President Trump has been winning at the negotiation table.
Last year, and early this year, Trump made waves after insulting Kim Jong Un on multiple occasions.
He called the North Korean leader “rocket man” and told him that he has a bigger nuclear button than he does.
Trump even went so far as to allude towards Kim Jong Un being “short and fat” in a now historic tweet.
Most of the media felt these tweets would lead towards all-out war.
They expected that Kim, who was in the midst of nuclear missile testing, was going to try to launch a nuclear attack against the United States.
Trump, instead of playing into those fears, called his bluff.
Kim’s change in tone likely has to do with his recognition that Trump is different than past leaders like former President Obama.
Obama was afraid of North Korea and wasn’t willing to play hardball in negotiations.
Therefore, Kim Jong Un didn’t fear the United States and knew that the United States wasn’t going to do anything to retaliate against their threats.
But Trump is different, and may finally bring peace to the Korean Peninsula.
Do you think Trump is doing a good job in his negotiations with North Korea?
