Chuck Schemer thought that this key Democrat was on his side.
But now a difference of opinion has left him stunned.
He was left outraged after one unthinkable betrayal.
One key part of the Democratic strategy is to win back the Senate from Republican control.
But it will be an uphill battle for them to win back control from Republicans.
There will now be two Senate seats in Georgia up for grabs in 2020 since Sen. Johnny Isakson has decided to resign for health reasons.
Chuck Schumer will need all the help he can get if he hopes to win the elections in a Republican state.
He thought that he could count on Stacey Abrams for support but he is having trouble from a quarter he least expected.
Stacey Abrams ran for governor of Georgia in 2018.
She is notorious for owing $50,000 in taxes to the IRS the same time as she donated $50,000 to her own campaign, and for her claim that there was widespread voter suppression.
Yet she has become a fixture in Democratic politics.
She was even chosen by Chuck Schumer to give the response to the State of the Union address.
It was the first time in history a non-elected person had been chosen for the honor.
Schumer must be bitterly disappointed that Stacey Abrams has refused to run for either of the Senate seats.
It would be surprising that Stacey Abrams is choosing not to run for a position of power, except for another story in the news.
“Whomever I pick, preferably it will be someone who was of color and/or a different gender,” Biden said when talking about what he is looking for in a running mate.
It looks like Stacey Abrams has put her Vice Presidential hopes above helping her party regain the Senate, or maybe she’s just found out that whining about losing is more to her taste than actually doing work.
Do you think that Stacey Abrams ditched Chuck Schumer to try and get herself a better job?
