Liberals knew they had a disastrous day at the Supreme Court.
That reality set in rather quickly.
And that’s because Clarence Thomas asked one question that forced a confession that will ruin Joe Biden.
The Supreme Court heard oral arguments in the case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health.
In this case, the state of Mississippi asked the court to overturn the wrongly decided Roe v. Wade case and uphold the state’s ban on abortions after 15 weeks.
Lawyers for the abortion mill and the solicitor general representing the Biden administration attempted to turn this case into a high-minded debate about individual liberty, freedom and bodily autonomy.
That argument fell on deaf ears with the court’s six Republican-appointed justices who all expressed varying degrees of hostility to the horror of abortion on demand in America which led to the deaths of 62 million babies since the terrible Roe decision in 1973.
Clarence Thomas was having none of it and pinned down the pro-abortion lawyers with questions that forced them to admit what this case was really about.
Justice Thomas questioned Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar about what right was at stake in this case and ticked off a number of rights enshrined in the Constitution.
“General, would you specifically tell me — specifically state what the right is? Is it specifically abortion? Is it liberty? Is it autonomy? Is it privacy?” Justice Thomas asked.
Prelogar attempted to filibuster by launching into a stemwinder about liberty and equality and the 14thAmendment.
“The right is grounded in the liberty component of the 14th Amendment, Justice Thomas. But I think that it promotes interest in autonomy, bodily integrity, liberty and equality. And I do think it is specifically the right to abortion here, the right of a woman to be able to control, without the state forcing her to continue a pregnancy, whether to carry that baby to term,” Solicitor General Prelogar responded.
Justice Thomas was not about to let Prelogar get away with that and rephrased his question.
Justice Thomas explained that if the case was about the Second or Fourth Amendments everyone would know what the issue was because the text of the Constitution spells out the right to keep and bear arms and protection from unlawful search and seizure.
“I understand we’re talking about abortion here, but what is confusing is that we — if we were talking about the Second Amendment, I know exactly what we’re talking about. If we’re talking about the Fourth Amendment, I know what we’re talking about because it’s written. It’s there. What specifically is the right here that we’re talking about?” Justice Thomas began.
Justice Thomas asked again if the only issue at stake here is abortion.
“So the right specifically is abortion?” Justice Thomas asked.
Solicitor General Prelogar admitted what the Biden administration sought to defend was the unlimited right to end a baby’s life right up until the moment of birth – and in some cases even after a baby survives an abortion.
“It’s the right of a woman prior to viability to control whether to continue with the pregnancy, yes,” Solicitor General Prelogar answered.
The Democrats’ abortion extremism is a major political loser.
The exit polls showed in the Virginia gubernatorial elections that voters who ranked abortion as their top issue broke for Republican Glenn Youngkin and helped provide the margin of victory in a close race.
Clarence Thomas forced the Biden administration to admit in court it defends the most extreme interpretation of the wrongly decided Roe v. Wade case which could come back to haunt Democrats in next year’s midterm election.
