When President Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in 2016, he didn’t just disappoint Democrats.
Many establishment Republicans and RINOs vigorously opposed Trump to the bitter end, and refuse to work with him even to this day.
And now the greatest NeverTrumper in the country just signed on to work for this massive liberal news network.
The man who holds the title of biggest NeverTrump Republican recently announced he was going to work for the news network most notable for its hatred of the President.
John Kasich, the former presidential candidate and governor of Ohio, will go to work for CNN as a political commentator starting this year.
Breitbart reports, “Kasich will serve as an analyst on several of the news network’s programs, CNN Worldwide president Jeff Zucker told his top brass Tuesday morning.”
Kasich ran for president in 2016 against President Trump, though he lost every state in the Republican Primary save his home state of Ohio.
Kasich just finished his last term as Governor of Ohio this January.
Since Trump’s stunning victory in 2016 over Hillary Clinton, Kasich has remained a staunch critic of the President.
He is perhaps the most notable, famous, and vocal anti-Trump Republican in the country.
Kasich’s opposition to President Trump has gone so far that his name has even been floated as a potential primary challenger to Trump in the 2020 elections.
However, Kasich seems to instead be moving on to bash Trump on CNN instead of on a debate stage.
“The governor has strong insights to help guide conversations in our country in a positive direction and this new partnership with CNN gives him a great platform to do so,” Kasich advisor John Weaver announced to the press.
Kasich will no doubt be used by CNN to fill the role of nominal Republican on their talk shows, which are almost entirely made up of partisan Democrats and committed liberals.
Kasich will likely find much in common with his left-wing news analysts as he joins them in CNN’s nearly endless bashing of the President.
As one of the leading faces of the NeverTrump movement within the Republican Party, Kasich is set to remain a vocal opponent of President Trump on one of America’s largest news networks, especially since CNN has largely made a name for itself by attacking President Trump over the years.
But Kasich’s move to the left-leaning news network only continues to fuel speculation that he may challenge President Trump in 2020, or just sabotage Trump’s chances of winning re-election by running as an independent instead.
Kasich for his part has encouraged such talk, telling reporters that he is actively considering a run against Trump both in the primary and the general elections.
It remains to be seen whether the former Ohio Governor will run in 2020, but he will almost certainly use his new platform as another way to attack the President now that he is no longer governor of one of America’s most important swing states.
