CNN’s war on Donald Trump reached a fevered pitch when Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to lying to Congress.
But a CNN host revealed a shocking truth that may have just destroyed the network.
Fake news CNN is home to 24 hours a day, seven days a week hatred of Donald Trump.
Viewers tune in knowing they’ll hear a parade of left-wing hosts and liberal guests rant and rave about the latest “outrage” committed by Donald Trump.
But CNN’s ever-dwindling audience was in for a rude awakening when host Jake Tapper gave his thoughts on the Michael Cohen plea deal.
Tapper noted that Cohen only admitted to lying about when the Trump Organization stopped pursuing a proposed business deal in Moscow.
Cohen gave no testimony or evidence that he knew about, or participated in, an international espionage operation to conspire with the Russian government to steal the 2016 election from Hillary Clinton.
“Look, this is clearly not welcome news for the president,” said Tapper. “I don’t want to pretend that it is but once again I look at these documents and I don’t see any evidence of conspiracy between members of the Trump team and the Russian government to interfere in the election.”
Tapper then pressed his guest New York Democrat Jerry Nadler – whom, as the incoming chair of the House Judiciary Committee, will oversee any impeachment proceedings – to admit that the plea deal did not show any proof of conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia to rig the 2016 election.
“It certainly tends to indicate — it’s one more piece of evidence — so now we know or Cohen testifies to the fact that Trump during the campaign at the same time that he is dictating a change in the Republican platform to favor the Russians, at the same time that he can find nothing negative to say about Putin or about what they are doing is, in fact, negotiating with the Russian government for personal business profits. He is mixing his personal business profits and perhaps putting them over the interests of the United States and lying to the electorate about it,” Nadler ranted.
“Sure, it stinks, but it’s not a conspiracy is all I’m saying,” Tapper responded.
Tapper’s sober – and factual – assessment of what Cohen pled guilty to, as well as what it means for Trump, stood in stark contrast to the hysterical ranting of other CNN on-air talent.
Legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin had gushed that the plea deal was the moment he actually believed Trump would be driven from office in disgrace.
“You know, today’s the first day I actually thought Donald Trump might not finish his term in office,” Toobin exclaimed.
Toobin fantasized how Cohen’s plea deal was the straw that would force the Republican Party to finally rid the country of Donald Trump.
“All of these are complementary to each other, and all of the stories that Trump is telling about them are preposterous,” he continued. “And when you combine them all, the question becomes: When do Republicans start to turn on Trump? Because that’s the only thing that’s going to get Trump out of office, it’s not going to be Democrats. And it’s certainly not now, but there may be a point where it’s too much.”
But Toobin hyping up Cohen’s plea deal only for Tapper to puncture it like a balloon is why CNN’s audience is shrinking.
For two years, CNN dressed up every development in the Russia investigation as “breaking news,” complete with multi-person panels spending hours discussing it.
But viewers now realize that CNN’s programming was all fake.
It was not based in reality.
Two years later and Trump is still President and not one investigation – nor the FBI, Congress or Bob Mueller – has produced any evidence of treasonous collusion with Russia.
Most Americans realized long ago that CNN stopped being in the news business.
The only people who still watch CNN are liberals caught up in wish-casting about Trump’s impeachment.
That’s why CNN has not had one single show ranked in the top 20 for cable news.
And now with Tapper’s admission that Cohen’s plea deal did nothing to move the ball down the field on the collusion investigation, it could be the breaking point for many leftist Americans who have invested their entire emotional well-being on the fact that they believed CNN was reporting the truth about Trump and the Russia investigation.
We will keep you up to date on any new developments in this ongoing story.
