CNN is trying to justify the awful actions that have been made in the name of justice.
There is no excuse.
CNN made a shocking defense for the rioting that stunned viewers into silence.
On the front page of CNN, there is no mention of David Dorn.
He was an African American retired St. Louis police captain who offered to check on his friend’s pawn shop after the alarms went off.
He was found dead early Tuesday morning.
“He was very dedicated to youth, especially disadvantaged youth,” said former St. Louis County police Chief Tim Fitch. “He wanted to see them succeed. He wanted to be a role model for those young men and women to go into law enforcement.”
Patrick Underwood was a black federal agent who died protecting a courthouse on Friday night.
Black lives matter, that’s why the violence must end.
People are protesting the death of George Floyd who died after a police officer pressed his knee into Floyd’s neck for several minutes even after he was unresponsive.
There is no justice for the tragic death of George Floyd in violence that kills more African Americans and destroys their businesses.
The mainstream media says that black lives matter but when it comes to the brave black men and women who are standing against the riots, suddenly they aren’t worth being reported.
Instead of trying to stop the violence, a CNN reporter explained that it was justified as an expression of pain.
“I know people see violence and think that people are just taking advantage of the situation,” said CNN correspondent Sara Sidner. “And there may be some people who are. I don’t know that every single person is doing this born out of pain but I can tell you many people are.”
Being filled with pain is not a valid reason to be violent. There are productive ways of expressing grief and rioting is not one of them.
“We’ve seen it,” Sidner continued. “They don’t know what to do with that emotion so their response, especially young folks, is lash out and one of the young folks – we talked to them on your show. You had him on your show. A young man who was from Minneapolis who said ‘do you see all this damage here. You don’t listen to us when we speak so you listen to us now don’t you.’”
“So acting out gets attention and they know that because the other way hasn’t gotten them the attention, it hasn’t done anything, it hasn’t changed anything, so they’re hoping this will.”
Sidner is speaking about the protesters as if they are children.
By CNN’s logic, is it okay for two black men to be murdered in order to get attention for the unjust death of another black man?
The violence and the thefts are going to hurt inner city communities and minorities.
In St. Louis alone, 55 businesses were burglarized and a convenience store was burned.
Violence doesn’t fix the pain. In fact, it just brings more pain. Vengeance on innocent people doesn’t bring justice.
