Democrats are seething with rage.
Republicans succeeded in confirming Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.
And that led one Democrat to make a promise about Kavanaugh he will live to regret.
Democrats Still Trying To Destroy Kavanaugh
Democrats have not given up on their goal to destroy Kavanaugh.
Even after the Senate confirmed Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, Democrats are still plotting to destroy him.
Liberals are demanding that the Democrats impeach Kavanaugh if they win back Congress in November.
And that put one Democrat on the hot seat.
If the Democrats win control of Congress, Representative Jerry Nadler will run the House Judiciary Committee.
The New York Times exclusively interviewed Nadler.
The Times reports on him talking about the chances of impeaching Kavanaugh:
Speaking on the eve of Judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation vote this weekend, Mr. Nadler said that there was evidence that Senate Republicans and the F.B.I. had overseen a “whitewash” investigation of the allegations and that the legitimacy of the Supreme Court was at stake. He sidestepped the issue of impeachment.
“It is not something we are eager to do,” Mr. Nadler said in an interview. “But the Senate having failed to do its proper constitutionally mandated job of advise and consent, we are going to have to do something to provide a check and balance, to protect the rule of law and to protect the legitimacy of one of our most important institutions.”
Nadler Makes A Big Mistake
But Nadler’s interview was a big mistake.
Going into the Kavanaugh fight, Democrats held an edge in the midterm elections.
Their voters were more fired up than Republicans.
But that all changed when the Democrats unleashed their scorched-earth tactics to stop his nomination.
One poll showed that the Democrats’ previous 10-point advantage in which party’s voters were more enthusiastic to vote in the midterms had shrunk to only 2 points.
And other polls found Republican Senate candidates surging in key races.
Voters in red states responded to the fake news media and Democrats smear campaign.
While some pundits contend other issues will arise in the final weeks before the midterms and this wave will pass, if Republican voters believe Democrats will impeach Justice Kavanaugh, their intensity will carry over.
Kavanaugh became a rallying cry for many conservatives.
Nadler made a big mistake entertaining the thought of impeaching Kavanaugh.
He only ended up reminding Republican voters why they need to turnout in November.
And Donald Trump echoed that same sentiment.
Trump put the Democrats’ extremism front and center in his pitch to inspire Republican voters to turnout in November.
He tweeted:
You don’t hand matches to an arsonist, and you don’t give power to an angry left-wing mob. Democrats have become too EXTREME and TOO DANGEROUS to govern. Republicans believe in the rule of law – not the rule of the mob. VOTE REPUBLICAN!
Republicans believe the Kavanaugh fight was a turning point.
They will find out if they are right on November 6.
