No one respects Joe Biden.
Not even his fellow Democrats.
And Democrats say one word about Joe Biden in private that revealed something startling.
NBC News correspondent Carol Lee revealed that behind closed doors Democrats whispered that Joe Biden looked weak by waiting on lifting the mask mandate for public transportation and instead having a judge strike down the mandate.
Democrats fretted that decisive action by Biden could have led to a political boon for Democrats as it could have helped change the image of the party of being that of COVID lockdowns and mandates.
“There are Democrats that I have spoken to that have said ‘look, the president looks weak here, he could’ve come out and owned this moment, this transition in the country where people are taking off their masks in transportation.’ He didn’t do that. Instead, he’s being led by the courts and then the other side of that is other Democrats say ‘well, if he did come out, own that,’” Lee stated. “There’s polling that shows Democrats like these mask mandates, at least some of them do and they’re more inclined to mask up.”
Lee reported that Biden and his handlers felt like they were held hostage by a liberal base that likes mask mandates and treats the pandemic like a permanent way of life.
“And he risks offending those people in his own party,” Lee added. “So, what you’re seeing is this just allowing the courts to make this decision even though you heard White House press secretary Jen Psaki say just moments ago that public health decisions should not be made by the courts. The concern that some Democrats have is that this just looks like a lack of leadership on critical issues.”
Lee was not the only member of the media to mock Biden as a pushover.
“Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd ticked off a litany of fights where Joe Biden just rolled over and accepted defeat.
“We saw it when the Supreme Court struck down their vaccine mandate for large employers. We saw it when West Virginia’s Joe Manchin essentially scrapped the entire president’s domestic agenda in Congress. We may even be seeing it with the ongoing intraparty fight on Title 42. The Biden administration, with the full power and prestige of the presidency, with his party’s power on the line this November, has repeatedly looked as if they’re easy to roll,” Todd stated.
Biden’s poll slide began last July when Biden backtracked on mask mandates and took the country back into COVID hysteria instead of moving on with normal life.
That disastrous decision has Democrats fretting that Joe Biden’s weakness will come back to haunt the party in November.
