Donald Trump continues to notch historic achievements.
But not everyone is popping the champagne corks.
And Donald Trump celebrated a huge victory that left Barack Obama in a jealous rage.
MSNBC is arguably the epicenter of the anti-Trump #Resistance.
Their hosts are unhinged, their so-called experts are deep state operatives with an axe to grind against Trump, and their guests are almost exclusively partisan hacks.
But sometimes the truth can slip out even at a place like MSNBC.
During a panel discussion about federal judges, hosts Ali Velshi and Stephanie Ruhle spoke with liberal legal analysts about the 98 vacancies that Trump can fill.
Velshi asked of McLaughlin, “As of December 2nd, there were 98 vacancies in the federal judiciary. Talk to me about why there are so many vacancies. Are there always a large number?”
McLaughlin tried to pin the Democrat debacle on Mitch McConnell, but had to admit it was the Democrats’ own doing.
“I think we had the Senate for about 14 months, a majority in the Senate, we actually got rid of the filibuster, which has come back to bite us,” McLaughlin said.
Then Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid got rid of the filibuster, and McConnell warned him that the unprecedented move would come back to haunt the Democrats, and it has.
McLaughlin, continued, “The idea that you used to have a super-majority to approve a federal judge or an appellate court judge, but now it’s only a simple majority and of course that’s what Republicans have.”
Trump is taking full advantage by filling the court with constitutionalists hand-picked by the Federalist Society.
He even thanked Barack Obama for leaving so many vacancies.
During a rally in Kentucky, Trump remarked, “And I came in and I said ‘how many do we have?’ And they said ‘how many what, sir?’ I said ‘judge openings.’ And I thought they would say none, or one, or two. They said ‘Sir, we have 142.’ I said ‘what?’ I said ‘tell me again.’ They said 142.”
Leaving 142 openings wouldn’t have been a problem for Obama if the succession plan to Hillary Clinton had worked, but it didn’t.
Now the move is backfiring in a significant way for Democrats.
Trump continued, “So Mitch, and I, and Rand would like to thank very much President Obama because nobody has ever been so generous in their life.”
Democrats have continuously politicized the process of appointing judges, most shamefully at the Supreme Court level.
Their unfair treatment of Judge Robert Bork was so appalling, the word “Bork” became a verb to describe a judge getting railroaded during the appointment process.
Democrats tried to do the same thing to Justice Clarence Thomas, but he was barely able to eke by despite disgraceful attacks to his character.
And most recently, Democrats debased themselves with the despicable treatment of Justice Brett Kavanaugh during his confirmation process.
The Democrats are reaping what they’ve sown when it comes to selecting judges, and Trump is laughing all the way home.
