This is the bad news Democrats were dreading.
With Joe Biden’s poll numbers collapsing Democrats face a crisis.
Donald Trump dropped a bombshell with Fox News about running for president in 2024.
President Trump continues to drop strong hints that he will seek re-election in 2024.
In an interview with Fox News, Trump provided a timeline stating that Trump would announce his 2024 plans after next year’s midterm elections.
“I am certainly thinking about it and we’ll see,” Trump told Fox News. “I think a lot of people will be very happy, frankly, with the decision, and probably will announce that after the midterms.”
Trump continued telling Fox News that the timeline was not etched in stone, but that because of campaign finance laws it made the most sense to wait for the next election cycle to start to declare his plans.
“It doesn’t mean I will,” Trump added. “It’s probably appropriate, but a lot of people are waiting for that decision to be made.”
Trump stated that the Republican Party had a deep bench of candidates that were waiting for Trump to make up his mind because “a lot of great people who are thinking about running are waiting for that decision, because they’re not going to run if I run.”
When Fox asked which potential 2024 candidates would pass on the race if Trump declared his candidacy Trump did not name names, but Trump said everyone knew who they were.
“We have a lot, they’re all very well named,” Trump explained. “But almost all of them said if I run, they’ll never run.”
Missouri Senator Josh Hawley, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, Florida Senator Marco Rubio and South Carolina Senator Tim Scott are among the Republicans that have either said they will not run or are expected not to run for president if Trump announces a 2024 campaign.
Trump said his ability to clear the field showed the level of respect other members of the party held for him.
“And that’s nice, primarily because it shows a great degree of loyalty and respect,” Trump explained.
Fox News asked Trump the next natural question – if Trump is running for president, who would Trump consider as his running mate?
Trump tried to play coy telling Fox News there were a lot of qualified candidates.
Fox tried to pin Trump down on the subject of a running mate by floating some potential candidates.
Of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Trump told Fox that “he’s a good man, but we have a lot of great people. He’s been good.”
Fox asked Trump about Haley and Trump gave an interesting answer about the RINO Haley.
“She said she’d never run if I ran, which I think is a good sign of respect,” Trump declared. “I was very good to her, I thought she did a very good job at what she did with the United Nations. She did an excellent job.”
After January 6, Nikki Haley tried to excommunicate Trump from the GOP claiming Trump led the GOP down the wrong path and lost the moral authority to lead.
But once Haley saw poll numbers that showed Republican voters did not buy into the corporate media’s narrative about Trump inciting a white supremacist insurrection Haley backtracked and tried to beg to get back into Trump’s good graces.
Polls show that not only is Trump the favorite to win the GOP nomination in 2024, but that Trump also leads Joe Biden in a head-to-head matchup.
A new USA Today/Suffolk poll shows Trump leading Biden 44 to 40 percent in a 2024 contest.
Those pull numbers terrify Democrats because not only will they entice Trump to throw his hat into the 2024 ring, but they also show that Trump is likely to win a second term.
