Donald Trump turned the phrase “you’re fired” into an iconic part of American popular culture.
As President, he brought that ‘take no prisoners’ style to Washington.
And Donald Trump just fired the one person that will leave you speechless.
Donald Trump announced former Bush administration U.N. Ambassador John Bolton as his national security advisor in April 2018.
It was always an odd fit.
The President won the 2016 election in part on his challenge to the failed status quo in foreign policy.
Then candidate Trump pledged to end the endless wars in the Middle East and bring America’s troops home so the government could secure the United States border instead of fighting to protect the borders of faraway lands.
Bolton was a loud and proud supporter of the Iraq War – which Donald Trump opposed and deemed a disaster – as well as advocating for war in places like North Korea and Iran.
The final straw for the President was Bolton opposing the President’s peace plan to end the Afghanistan war as well as intentions to negotiate a stronger nuclear deal with Iran that would actually stop the rogue Islamic nation from acquiring a nuclear weapon.
“I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House. I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the Administration, and therefore I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning. I thank John very much for his service. I will be naming a new National Security Advisor next week,” the President wrote on Twitter.
The former national security advisor could not even leave the White House without engaging the President in a fight.
Bolton responded by contradicting the President.
“I offered to resign last night and President Trump said, ‘Let’s talk about it tomorrow,’” Bolton claimed.
Bolton also told the Washington Post’s Robert Costa that in the near future the former national security advisor would speak out against President Trump.
“Ambassador Bolton to me just now: ‘I will have my say in due course. But I have given you the facts on the resignation. My sole concern is US national security,’” Costa posted to social media.
Bolton’s resignation made him an instant hero on the left and in the fake news media.
Nancy Pelosi praised Bolton on his way out the door.
“John Bolton’s sudden departure is a symbol of the disarray that has unnerved our allies since day one of the Trump Administration. Steady leadership & strategic foreign policy is key to ensuring America’s national security,” Pelosi tweeted.
The left hated John Bolton.
For over a decade Democrats and the fake news media cast him as an evil bureaucratic villain straight out of a Hollywood political thriller.
Now that they know Bolton will criticize President Trump, the so-called “mainstream” media portrays Bolton as a principled truth teller willing to stand up to Donald Trump’s supposed worst influences.
