Donald Trump’s war with Fox News just took a shocking new turn.
And it’s all because of one massive thing that Fox did to betray the President.
And now, Trump just tore into the network for one unbelievable reason.
Donald Trump is the ultimate political disruptor. Since becoming President after defeating Hillary Clinton in the election of a lifetime in 2016, he’s taken a sledgehammer to the mainstream media.
And not even Fox News is immune to the President’s righteous feud with the mainstream media.
Mediaite reports, “President Donald Trump went on a tear against Fox News this afternoon and singled out two of the network’s most notable Democratic pundits as he bemoaned what’s happened to the network.”
“In response to a question about a new Fox News poll, Trump said, ‘Fox is a lot different than it used to be. I can tell you that. Juan Williams, then they have the wonderful woman that gave Hillary Clinton the questions. That was a terrible thing. And all of a sudden, she’s working for Fox. What’s she doing working for Fox?’”
Trump has been very vocal against the mainstream media ever since he launched his campaign for the White House in 2015.
While he’s usually reserved his strongest criticisms for liberal platforms like CNN and MSNBC, his clashing with Fox News is a new turn of events few saw coming.
Trump knows that the old media outlets aren’t his friend, and that he didn’t owe his election to their coverage of him.
Instead, he uses social media like his popular Twitter account to get his message out to the general public.
Trump has realized he doesn’t need the liberal media as much as they need him, especially when he can simply tweet his thoughts and get tens of millions of Americans engaged in a matter of seconds.
And that’s far more people than Fox News or MSNBC could ever reach.
But for Trump, the ongoing feud with Fox is also something personal.
“I think they’re making a big mistake because Fox was treated very badly by the Democrats. Very, very badly. Having to do with the debates and other things. And I think Fox is making a big mistake because, you know, I’m the one that calls the shots on that — on the really big debates. I guess we’re probably planning on three of them. And I — well, I’m very — I’m not happy with Fox,” the President recently said.
Trump is re-writing the rules about how Presidents have to engage with the media.
And he won’t be the last President to simply go around them rather than have to deal with them head on.
In fact, Trump’s disagreements with the mainstream media could mark the beginning of the end for “Old News” outlets like MSNBC, CNN, and even Fox.
And if that happens, the sky is the limit for what the President and his successors can do next.
Do you think Trump is treated unfairly by the media?
