The world believed the United States and Iran marched to the brink of World War Three.
Iran vowed revenge for President Trump’s decision to take out their number one military commander.
And then Donald Trump hit Iran with an ultimatum that had all hell breaking loose.
The Iranians responded to an American strike that took out Iranian terrorist commander General Qasem Soleimani by firing 15 ballistic missiles at two United States air force bases in Iraq.
The missiles only struck empty areas of the base and there were no United States or Iraqi casualties.
Iran appeared to be sending a message that they knew an attack that inflicted real damage would invite a devastating United States response and that they were waving the white flag of surrender.
World leaders waited to see how President Trump would respond.
President Trump spoke the next morning and made it clear he knew the United States was in the catbird seat in this conflict.
“As long as I am President of the United States, Iran will never be allowed to have a nuclear weapon,” President Trump declared before even beginning his prepared remarks.
President Trump then went on to describe Iran’s 40-year war against the United States and to announce that the rules of the game had changed and America would no longer tolerate Iranian aggression.
“For far too long — all the way back to 1979, to be exact — nations have tolerated Iran’s destructive and destabilizing behavior in the Middle East and beyond. Those days are over. Iran has been the leading sponsor of terrorism, and their pursuit of nuclear weapons threatens the civilized world. We will never let that happen,” President Trump continued.
President Trump then told the world that the United States held Soleimani accountable for his responsibility in the deaths of over 600 American soldiers and that anyone that threatened American lives would pay a similar price.
“Soleimani’s hands were drenched in both American and Iranian blood. He should have been terminated long ago. By removing Soleimani, we have sent a powerful message to terrorists: If you value your own life, you will not threaten the lives of our people,” President Trump warned Iran.
The President then moved to issue a call to world leaders to unite around shared values of peace and stability and stand up to Iran’s campaign of terror.
“Peace and stability cannot prevail in the Middle East as long as Iran continues to foment violence, unrest, hatred, and war. The civilized world must send a clear and unified message to the Iranian regime: Your campaign of terror, murder, mayhem will not be tolerated any longer. It will not be allowed to go forward,” President Trump added.
But President Trump also made it clear that he did not want war.
While the President said America achieves tactical and technological military superiority to any nation on Earth, America did not seek to unleash its military might.
Instead, the President wanted to negotiate a deal that would benefit all nations and help advance the cause of peace.
President Trump concluded his remarks by extending a hand of friendship to the Iranian people and asking them to join him in helping him secure a prosperous and peaceful future for their country.
“Finally, to the people and leaders of Iran: We want you to have a future and a great future — one that you deserve, one of prosperity at home, and harmony with the nations of the world. The United States is ready to embrace peace with all who seek it,” President Trump concluded.
The fake news media was stunned.
Democrat Party apologists in the fake news spent days blabbering about how President Trump’s supposed “incompetence” would blunder America into another endless war in the Middle East.
But after the President’s speech, even some of Trump’s harshest critics were forced to admit President Trump skillfully managed the Iranian crisis into a victory for America.
“I’m far from a Trump supporter. But impossible not to call Iran outcome a win for US president and a big opportunity going forward,” wrote Ian Bremmer who is President of the Eurasia Group and a Time Magazine columnist.
