The Democrats are going out of their way to make problems for President Trump.
They hate that their coronavirus control has been broken.
Donald Trump just received terrible news that could stop his rallies from restarting.
The Democrats cheered on the massive protests that flooded the streets mere weeks ago.
They said that there was no reason for coronavirus to stop the protests on the death of George Floyd and yet as soon as the protests were over, they went back to their coronavirus fear mongering.
Protesters made the area around the rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma tense.
The Tulsa mayor decided to impose a curfew around the BOK Center where the Trump rally was taking place.
“As part of our preparations for President Trump’s Rally this Saturday, we are working on making the area secure for everyone’s safety,” the Tulsa Police Department said.
The curfew went from 10 p.m. on Friday night until 6 a.m. on Saturday morning.
“As Mayor, I have received information from the Tulsa Police Department and other law enforcement agencies that shows that individuals from organized groups who have been involved in destructive or violent behavior in other states are planning to travel to the City of Tulsa for purposes of causing unrest in and around the rally,” Mayor GT Bynum said.
Protesters did try to interfere with the Trump rally going forward.
“Sadly, protesters interfered with supporters, even blocking access to the metal detectors, which prevented people from entering the rally,” said Trump campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh. “Radical protesters, coupled with a relentless onslaught from the media, attempted to frighten off the president’s supporters. We are proud of the thousands who stuck it out.”
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claimed that the attendance was at less than capacity because teenagers using the Chinese-owned app TikTok requested tickets.
“Actually you just got ROCKED by teens on TikTok who flooded the Trump campaign w/ fake ticket reservations & tricked you into believing a million people wanted your white supremacist open mic enough to pack an arena during COVID,” the Congresswoman said, responding on Twitter to the reports of protesters keeping people away at the Trump rally.
Lawmakers have called for investigations of TikTok previously because the Chinese company could pose national security risks but that’s not the real reason the attendance at the rally was lower than expected.
“The fact is that a week’s worth of the fake news media warning people away from the rally because of COVID and protesters, coupled with recent images of American cities on fire, had a real impact on people bringing their families and children to the rally,” said Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale.
The added worry of a mayor implementing a curfew probably made many people feel that they were better off at home.
