Ilhan Omar thought that winning reelection would be a piece of cake.
She didn’t expect any trouble in her far-left district.
But Donald Trump said five words that made Ilhan Omar scream with rage.
If Ilhan Omar was content to be an ordinary Democrat, she would have a happy, long career ahead of her.
She lives in one of the most Democratic-leaning districts with a large Muslim population.
She’s had a scandalous first term in Congress that has shown that she is a terrible person and has disappointed her district.
Omar is well known for her anti-Semitism; she suggested that America’s support for Israel was due to Jewish gold when she posted, “It’s all about the Benjamins baby.” And she showed she is un-American when she described 9/11 as “some people did something.”
But worse than that is her torrid love affair with her political consultant who she paid large sums of money to.
When the story broke that Ilhan Omar was having an affair with Tim Mynett, she emphatically denied the claims, saying, “No, I am not.”
“I have no interest in allowing the conversation about my personal life to continue, and so I have no desire to discuss it,” Omar added.
Tim Mynett’s company, E. Street Group, has received approximately $230,000 from Omar’s campaign funds to pay for his consulting work.
Omar got married to him in March.
“Remember the story began with her denying a relationship, and now she’s marrying that person,” Larry Jacobs, a professor at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs, said.
“I think there are legitimate questions that constituents might ask about whether Congresswoman Omar has been fully truthful in her discussion of this relationship, and the nature of her marriage to a previous husband [whom Omar divorced last fall],” he continued.
Omar’s hurt her own image with her own immoral and underhanded conduct and President Trump delivered another blow to reelection chances when he endorsed her rival Lacy Johnson, saying, “I’m Endorsing you also Lacy.”
“You are doing a great job, and Omar is a disaster who wants much higher taxes, hates our Military & our Vets, demands Open Borders, and is fighting to take away our great 2nd Amendment,” Trump continued in a tweet.
On his campaign site, Johnson vows to fight against Omar’s radical left-wing agenda.
“Donations to our campaign go directly to educating the inner city voters in our district that are not represented by Ilhan Omar,” his site says. “The media will not expose her, only we can show the people of our district the truth. Radical left-wing policies will continue to fail major cities across America.”
Not only is Ilhan Omar facing a challenge from Republicans, she’s also in danger from a strong primary challenger who is looking to unseat her.
Antone Melton-Meaux, an attorney and professional mediator, has raised an impressive $400,000 for his campaign to win the Democrat primary.
If Democrats are smart, they’ll do their best to make sure Omar doesn’t return to Congress.
