The American left is summoning the totality of its cultural, political, economic and institutional power to punish Donald Trump.
Their end goal is to exile Trump from public life and ban him from ever holding elected office again.
And Donald Trump sent this letter of resignation that no one saw coming.
Screen Actors Guild union president Gabrielle Carteris recently made waves about throwing Donald Trump out of the union alleging that his supposed “role” in inciting the January 6 riot at the Capitol was a bridge too far.
“Donald Trump attacked the values that this union holds most sacred — democracy, truth, respect for our fellow Americans of all races and faiths, and the sanctity of the free press,” the former Beverly Hills 90210 actress wrote in a statement. “There’s a straight line from his wanton disregard for the truth to the attacks on journalists perpetrated by his followers.”
Donald Trump responded to Carteris in Trump fashion firing off a letter officially resigning from the union.
In the letter Trump cited his work in films such as“Home Alone 2,”“Zoolander,”“Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps,” as well as TV work such as his time hosting “The Apprentice” as well as cameos on “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”
Trump noted that the union did nothing for him except collect forced union dues from his paycheck and give back nothing in return.
Former President Trump also noted that ten actors led by Ed Asner sued the Screen Actors Guild union over cuts to health plans as evidence the SAG did not work for its members on any meaningful issues.
“Which brings me to your blatant attempt at free media attention to distract from your dismal record as a union. Your organization has done little for its members, and nothing for me – besides collecting dues and promoting dangerous un-American policies and ideas – as evident by your massive unemployment rates and lawsuits from celebrated actors, who even recorded a video asking, ‘Why isn’t the union fighting for me?’” Trump wrote.
Trump concluded his letter by announcing he wanted nothing to do with the Screen Actors Guild.
“I no longer wish to be associated with your union,” Trump declared.
The Screen Actors Guild responded with a two-word statement that simply read “thank you.”
Cancel culture is very real.
And cancel culture is a serious problem in America.
The left is leveraging all of its economic, political and cultural power to cancel former President Trump.
But Trump gets the game and knows what’s going on.
Donald Trump was not about to let some Hollywood union cancel him.
So he preempted them with a resignation letter and pointed out that the Screen Actors Guild long ago lost its way.
