Pundits confidently predicted Donald Trump’s political demise in the upcoming election.
That is the same mistake all the so-called “experts” made in 2016.
And Donald Trump couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw a shocking 2020 poll.
Ever since he entered the race, Joe Biden sat atop the national and early state polls.
Democrats considered Biden the most “electable” candidate in the field and that was enough to boost him to the front of the pack.
But Biden’s support was always soft.
The former Vice President owed his perch at the top of the polls to name recognition and his eight years as Barack Obama’s Vice President.
Voters considered Biden the most “electable” because he held the highest profile position of anyone in the race and he was the candidate they knew the best.
However, as time wore on, cracks began to emerge in Biden’s armor.
Americans saw a confused and disoriented candidate not being able to remember names, dates or even the state he was campaigning in at the time.
Other candidates offered up a farther left policy vision.
And finally, Biden was a straight, white male in a part that values identity politics and racial and gender diversity.
One of Biden’s challengers checked all of those boxes and began steadily rising in the polls – Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren.
Warren began drawing massive crowds as she began churning out socialist and anti-American policies and turning in steady debate performances.
And in recent days a new batch of polling came out that showed Elizabeth Warren supplanted Biden as the frontrunner in the Democrat primary.
The first show to drop was a Des Moines Register/CNN poll of Iowa showing Warren surging to a 22 percent to 20 percent lead over Biden.
“This is the first major shake-up,” longtime pollster J. Ann Selzer – who conducted the poll told the Des Moines Register. “It’s the first time we’ve had someone other than Joe Biden at the top of the leader board.”
Next, a brand new Monmouth University poll found Warren led Biden in the First in the Nation primary state 27 percent to 25 percent.
That represented a 19 point gain for Warren from Monmouth’s previous New Hampshire poll.
“Warren continues to look stronger with every new poll,” Monmouth University Institute polling director Patrick Murray declared. “She seems to be picking up support across the spectrum, with gains coming at the expense of both Biden and Sanders.”
Finally, Warren surpassed Biden in a national poll.
Quinnipiac’s newest survey revealed Warren topped Biden 27 to 25 percent.
That was a reveal from Quinnipiac’s August poll showing Biden holding a commanding 32 to 19 percent lead over Warren.
“After trailing Biden by double digits since March in the race for the Democratic nomination, Warren catches Biden,” Quinnipiac University pollster Tim Malloy stated. “We now have a race with two candidates at the top of the field, and they’re leaving the rest of the pack behind.”
Donald Trump and his campaign were thrilled at this development.
While Warren’s far-left policies thrilled Democrats, they are toxic with the broader electorate.
Polls show Warren’s proposals for the government banning private health insurance and granting free taxpayer-funded healthcare to illegal aliens are wildly unpopular with the general public.
If Warren is the nominee, the Trump campaign is sure to pummel her with hundreds of millions of dollars in TV and online ads over her support for taking away 180 million Americans’ health insurance and putting the needs of illegal aliens ahead of those of American citizens.
