Ilhan Omar may have finally bit off more than she can chew.
The controversial freshman Democrat engaged President Trump in a war of words after her disrespectful comments about the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
That’s when President Trump ended the fight by stunning Omar into silence with just nine powerful words.
Omar ignited this controversy in March with a speech where she waved off the 9/11 terrorist attacks as merely “some people did something” which had resulted in all Muslims losing their civil liberties.
President Trump – who is also a native New Yorker – responded by posting a video to twitter combining clips of Omar’s comments with footage from the horrific terrorist attack that destroyed the World Trade Center buildings and murdered 3,000 innocent American.
Omar responded back with emotional blackmail.
The Minnesota Democrat fired off a statement claiming any criticism of her was the equivalent of white nationalism and that challenging her views had placed her life in danger.
“Violent crimes and other acts of hate by right-wing extremists and white nationalists are on the rise in this country and around the world,” Omar ranted.
“We can no longer ignore that they are being encouraged by the occupant of the highest office in the land.”
Her allies in the fake news media hoped framing this story as an aggrieved minority challenging a powerful and privileged white male would put Trump in a bad light and force him to back off.
But that’s not what happened.
On Monday, President Trump traveled to Minnesota – a state he narrowly lost in 2016, and one his team hopes to flip red in 2020 – to tout his tax cut bill and stewardship of the booming economy.
During an interview with the local KSTP-TV ABC affiliate in Minnesota, a reporter asked President Trump to respond to the controversy as well as Omar’s claims that he had put her life in danger.
Nine words of his answer – “she’s extremely unpatriotic and extremely disrespectful to our country” – kept the story in the proper context.
“Look, she’s been very disrespectful to this country. She’s been very disrespectful, frankly, to Israel. She is somebody that doesn’t really understand life real life,” President Trump began.
“It’s unfortunate,” President Trump continued. “She’s got a way about her that’s very, very bad, I think, for our country. I think she’s extremely unpatriotic and extremely disrespectful to our country.”
So the fake news media attempted to gaslight the American people by weaving the narrative that Omar’s comments were taken out of context only by the right-wing media looking to gin up outrage.
But if Omar was an obscure county commissioner in a far-off flyover state who shared an offensive meme on social media about Barack Obama, the fake news would’ve made that person the face of the Republican Party.
President Trump took Omar’s remarks in the only context possible – that Omar believes the only real victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks were innocent Muslims who had their civil rights ripped away by government spying and racial profiling at airports.
