Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced a $44 billion deal to purchase Twitter.
In recent months Musk publicly expressed frustration with the woke mob pressuring Twitter to censor views that undercut the left’s narrative.
Musk – who with a net worth of $273 billion is listed as the richest man in the world according to Forbes magazine – put his money where his mouth is and bought Twitter.
In a statement announcing the purchase Musk declared that Twitter would stand for protecting and defending free speech.
“Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated,” Musk’s statement read. “I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating all humans.
“Twitter has tremendous potential – I look forward to working with the company and the community of users to unlock it,” Musk concluded.
Liberal journalists began losing their minds over the fact that the new owner of Twitter pledged to act as a bulwark against online censorship.
NBC’s so-called “disinformation reporter” Ben Collins typified the media meltdown.
Other than being filled with death threats, racial slurs, and fake recipes for play-doh that actually produce napalm, the sites are simply unusable from a basic user experience level.

Journalists – who depend on the First Amendment right to free speech and freedom of the press – are the most aggressive advocates for online censorship.
And like virtually every political development on the left over the last six years it all goes back to Donald Trump.
When Donald Trump won in 2016 liberals blamed social media companies for allowing Trump to communicate directly with voters absent the corporate media’s filters and so-called “fact checkers.”
Liberals also convinced themselves Russia spending a couple hundred thousand dollars on Facebook members altered the election results.
The 2020 election vindicated the left’s belief in the power of online censorship.
Twitter and Facebook censored the New York Post’s reporting about the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop.
A Media Research Center poll found that one in six Joe Biden voters would not have cast their ballot for Biden if they’d known about this and other scandals.
Elon Musk purchasing Twitter and promising to return Twitter to a free speech platform has liberals terrified that without Big Tech meddling in elections through censorship of conservatives, Democrats will lose in 2022 and 2024.
