Americans were disturbed to learn about the highest levels of the FBI plotting against Donald Trump.
But no one knew just how bad it really was.
And now the FBI is in how water after a shocking admission about just how far their anti-Trump plot actually went.
The FBI is in full damage control mode.
As the credibility of the Fusion GPS collusion dossier collapses, members of the intelligence community are desperate to rewrite the history of how the investigation into Trump and Russia started.
After Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson testified to Congress, stories began appearing in the media propping up the dossier’s credibility.
But now that his testimony revealed the dossier’s shaky foundations, Obama administration officials are back to feeding stories to the media that the dossier was not that helpful at all.
The Washington Post’s David Ignatius was on the receiving end of one of these leaks.
But in his hurry to try and defend the legitimacy of the investigation, his column revealed a key detail which shows the FBI was conspiring against Trump.
He revealed that around October 1 of 2016, an FBI agent met with Christopher Steele –the ex-British intelligence agent who put the dossier together – in Rome and began feeding him sensitive information about the FBI’s investigation.
The Daily Caller reports:
“An FBI agent shared the name of former Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos with Trump dossier author Christopher Steele during a meeting in early October 2016…
… Ignatius reports that Steele, a former MI6 agent, met with an old FBI contact in Rome around Oct. 1, 2016 to share findings from his investigation into Donald Trump’s and the Trump campaign’s associations with the Russian government.
“At this meeting, the FBI official asked Steele if he had ever heard of Papadopoulos,” reports Ignatius, who cited an official familiar with the meeting as his source.
According to Ignatius, Steele had not heard of Papadopoulos, a little-known energy consultant who joined the Trump campaign as a volunteer adviser in March 2016. He pleaded guilty in October to lying to the FBI about his contacts with Russian nationals while working on the campaign.
Ignatius’ report reveals for the first time that an FBI agent shared information about the bureau’s investigation with Steele, who operates a private research firm in London.”
This is a significant revelation.
It proves the FBI was in league with a source who was funded by the Clintons.
Ignatius’ column also reveals that the FBI was passing sensitive information to a source who was briefing the press on his findings.
What other information about the investigation did the Bureau share with Steele?
