Joe Biden got some more bad news.
It could lead to a criminal referral.
And an FBI whistleblower turned over a smoking gun that exposed this major Joe Biden scandal.
Attorney General Merrick Garland caused a firestorm with his response to the National School Boards Association letter demanding the Biden administration classify parents concerned about critical race theory and mask mandates in schools as domestic terrorists.
The NSBA officials also demanded the FBI use the illegal warrantless spying powers contained in the so-called “PATRIOT Act” to monitor parents that protested at school board meetings.
On October 21, Attorney General Garland testified to Congress that the FBI never targeted parents with the Bureau’s counterterrorism capabilities.
That appears to be a lie.
Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee dispatched a bombshell letter to Attorney General Garland demanding an explanation for documents a whistleblower turned over contradicting Attorney General Garland’s sworn testimony.
The House Judiciary Committee Republicans’ letter “referenced your October 4 directive to the FBI to address school board threats and notified FBI personnel about a new ‘threat tag’ created by the Counterterrorism and Criminal Divisions.”
Garland did not disclose that the FBI created a new threat tag to catalogue parents that protested at school board meetings.
“This disclosure provides specific evidence that federal law enforcement operationalized counterterrorism tools at the behest of a left-wing special interest group against concerned parents,”the letter added.
Republicans explained that the whistleblower turned over an October 20 email from the FBI’s assistant director for counterterrorism Timothy Langan announcing the creation of an “EDUOFFICIALS” threat tag.
Langan’s agents were directed to “attempt to identify” the motive for supposed threats to school boards and to investigate “federal violations that can be investigated and charged.”
The Langan email revealed the FBI wanted to create a national database of parents protesting at school board meetings that left-wing board members considered threatening.
“The purpose of the threat tag is to help scope this threat on a national level and provide an opportunity for comprehensive analysis of the threat picture for effective engagement with law enforcement partners at all levels,” Langan wrote.
This is exactly what Merrick Garland testified was not happening.
Langan sent this email before Garland’s testimony and critics contend it defies belief that Garland was unaware top FBI officials acted upon Attorney General Garland agreeing to the demands of a left-wing organization calling worried parents domestic terrorists.
Republicans blasted Garland’s original memo tasking the FBI’s National Security Division with investigating parents that protest at school board meetings as Soviet-style secret police tactics.
Garland claimed – under oath – no such spying occurred.
The FBI whistleblower provided evidence that says otherwise.
