Liberal critics falsely claimed that Fox News Channel functioned as “state TV” during the Trump administration.
It was not true then and it isn’t true now.
That became clear when Fox News asked one question that just massively insulted Donald Trump.
The Washington Post continued the corporate media witch hunt against Donald Trump by publishing a report about Donald Trump taking classified material with him to Mar-a-Lago when he left office.
The Post exclusively reported:
While it was unclear how many classified documents were among those received by the Archives, some bore markings that the information was extremely sensitive — sometimes colloquially referred to as being “above top secret” — and would be limited to a small group of officials with authority to view such highly classified information, the two people familiar with the matter said.
The markings were discovered by the National Archives and Records Administration, which last month arranged for the collection of 15 boxes of documents from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence. Archives officials asked the Justice Department to look into the matter, though as of Thursday afternoon, FBI agents had yet to review the materials, according to two people familiar with the request.
Trump’s team blasted the report as more fake news media hype noting no one from the National Archives – who are the only government officials who would know –commented on the story and Trump said his team worked with the National Archives and Records Administration to catalogue what Trump could remove from the White House.
Any classified material that ended up in Mar-a-Lago likely results from a hurried packing schedule before Trump left office and not the result of Trump stuffing classified documents in his suitcase before departing Washington.
Fox News’ “Special Report” host Bret Baier tried to claim Republicans were hypocrites for calling Hillary Clinton a criminal for mishandling classified information on an unsecured private email server, but not leveling the same accusation at Donald Trump.
“If Republicans were really, really upset and focused on Hillary Clinton’s emails and all of that classified back-and-forth and what happened with those documents, shouldn’t they be really upset or concerned about what’s coming out? We don’t know factually that this is all true. But, if it is, shouldn’t they be as concerned?” Baier asked.
Former Education Secretary Bill Bennett dismissed the charge as baseless.
“I’m sure the Justice Department and others will look into this. But, my gosh, this is a part of a long story of allegations against Donald Trump. Most of which proved groundless as you know. But, sure, look into it. Sunlight’s the best disinfectant, take a look,” Bennett answered.
There is a huge difference Baier forgot to point out.
Hillary Clinton personally sent her own emails.
Clinton knew what information was classified and what was not.
There is no indication Trump packed his own boxes.
Trump said his team worked with the National Archives in packing up his papers for his trip back to Florida.
Clinton mishandling classified information was not sloppiness.
The archive staff and Trump’s team completing a rush job to get Trump’s belongings ready for the trip to Florida mistakenly including classified documents was simple human error.
