Trump-endorsed football legend Herschel Walker is running in one of the most competitive Senate races in the country.
Both parties dumped tens of millions of dollars into this race to pull out a victory.
And now Herschel Walker’s life turned upside down because of what one woman said on camera.
Polls show Walker’s race against Democrat Raphael Warnock is a tossup.
And in the final month of the campaign Democrats dropped their “October Surprise” which came in the form of a report from the left-wing outlet The Daily Beast where an unnamed woman – who is also a registered Democrat – claimed Walker paid her to have an abortion when the two engaged in a relationship back in 2009.
In an interview with radio host Hugh Hewitt, Walker denied the allegations in the strongest possible terms.
“I’m not sure why that would be told. I know nothing about any woman having an abortion, and they can keep coming at me like that,” Walker stated. “They’re doing it because they want to distract people. I know that, because I’ve already been forgiven. And if I’ve been forgiven, why in the world would I not be forgiven of something like that?”
Walker addressed the media twisting an ad where Walker said as a born-again Christian he believed in redemption as not having anything to do with the abortion allegation, but instead was meant to say he asked for forgiveness over past misdeeds caused by mental health issues which Walker since resolved.
And for a second time Walker denied ever paying for an abortion.
“I hate to say I’ve been born again, but I have a new life and I’ve been moving forward,” Walker declared. “And if that had happened, I would have said, you know, nothing to be ashamed of there. You know, people have done that, but I know nothing about it. And if I knew about it, I would be honest and talk about it, but I know nothing about that.”
The Democrats trying to smear Walker’s character called into question allegations made by Warnock’s ex-wife during the 2020 Senate run-off election in Georgia.
Police body cam footage showed Warnock’s wife alleging physical abuse claiming Warnock ran over her foot with his car.
“This man’s running for United States Senate, and all he cares about right now is his reputation,” Warnock’s ex-wife told the police.
Warnock’s ex-wife claimed Warnock’s public image as a humble pastor was all a lie and alleged that the real Warnock was the one who she claimed ran over her foot.
“I work at the mayor’s office, and this is a big problem. I’ve been trying to be very quiet about the way that he is for the sake of my kids and his reputation,” Warnock’s ex-wife declared before telling police that Warnock “tried to keep the way that he acts under wraps for a long time, and today he crossed the line.
“So that is what is going on here, and he’s a great actor. He is phenomenal at putting on a really good show,” Warnock’s ex-wife added.
Warnock’s ex-wife also accused Warnock of falling behind on child support payments and fleeing a process server.
Warnock also successfully won an order from a friendly judge to seal his divorce records and keep the totality of his wife’s allegations out of the campaign.
But it is now clear that the final month of the campaign will be dominated by these issues.
