Hillary Clinton has re-emerged to promote her new book about the 2016 campaign “What Happened.”
She’s using the book and press tour to continue to play the blame game about why she lost.
But she stepped in it when she was caught on camera making a racist comment about white people.
Clinton was given a sympathetic platform on CBS’ Sunday Morning to discuss her book and the events surrounding her failed Presidential bid.
When the interview turned toward the night of her defeat, Clinton blamed white people for her defeat.
The Daily Caller reports:
“Clinton said that she has wondered what happened ever since she lost to then-Republican candidate Donald Trump.
Clinton added that “white people” happened.
“[Trump] was quite successful in referencing a nostalgia that would give hope, comfort, settle grievances, for millions of people who were upset about gains that were made by others because—”
“What you’re saying is millions of white people,” Pauley interrupted.
“Millions of white people, yeah,” Clinton replied. “Millions of white people.”
But she assured viewers: “I am good.”
Clinton told “Sunday Morning” anchor Jane Pauley, “But that doesn’t mean I am complacent or resolved about what happened. It still is very painful. It hurts a lot.”
If Mitt Romney or John McCain claimed they lost to Barack Obama because “black people happened” the media would have lost their minds.
But Clinton causally blew off an entire group of people as having been motivated by racial grievance and prejudice.
It wasn’t just white people who rejected her.
Trump performed better with Hispanic and black voters than Mitt Romney in 2012.
Clinton was rejected because she was the embodiment of a political establishment that millions of Americans believed ignored their interests in favor of big money donors, multinational corporations and foreign governments.
Trump tapped into this anger at the establishment and on his core message of Making American Great Again by building a wall, ending bad trade deals, and stopping American’s involvement in foreign wars.
Hillary Clinton still can’t grasp why she lost.
She’s casting about blaming Russia, the FBI, sexism, and now white people for her disastrous campaign.
But the reason for her defeat is simple – she ran on a platform using her Presidency as Obama’s third term in order to cement globalism.
The American people – fed up after eight years of America being treated like just another nation – rose up and rejected her.
