Hillary Clinton took another step towards the unthinkable.
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris need to be looking over their shoulder.
And Hillary Clinton just did one thing that has everyone thinking she is running in 2024.
Hillary Clinton announced she would host a high-dollar virtual fundraiser with Ohio Senate candidate Tim Ryan.
Donors will have to fork over the legal maximum contribution of $2,900 to attend the event with Clinton and Ryan.

In and of itself, this is not a big deal.
Except for one thing.
Clinton is clearly in the middle of a slow burn rollout of a potential presidential campaign.
It began with Clinton granting interviews where Clinton warned that Donald Trump threatened to end American democracy and that Democrats made a big mistake by embracing socialism.
Then, Clinton’s former pollster Doug Schoen authored a Wall Street Journal op-ed laying out the case that Clinton could run as the change candidate in 2024.
Now, Clinton is hosting a campaign event for a Democrat in an open seat Senate race.
For decades, presidential contenders tried to build up a reservoir of goodwill by stumping for down-ballot candidates.
Richard Nixon was the poster child for this strategy.
Nixon lost the 1960 presidential election in controversial fashion to JFK.
In 1962, Pat Brown blew out Nixon in the 1962 California gubernatorial election leading to a legendary press conference where Nixon famously told the press “you won’t have Dick Nixon to kick around anymore” in what many thought was his retirement from public life.
But in 1966, Nixon campaigned across the country for GOP candidates in that fall’s midterm election.
Republicans scored a big win that November and Nixon collected enough political chits to help him win the 1968 GOP nomination and ultimately the presidency.
Much like Nixon, everyone thought Clinton’s career ended after losing the 2016 presidential election to Donald Trump.
Clinton could be attempting to follow the Nixon path and claw her way back to the presidency that Hillary Clinton clearly thinks belongs to her.
But Hillary Clinton is one of the most unpopular candidates to ever run for president.
Clinton lost to Donald Trump in an election that all the so-called “experts” believed Clinton could not lose.
In the years since Clinton attacked American democracy by spreading the Big Lie that Donald Trump was not the legitimate president pushing the deranged conspiracy theory that Trump colluded with the Russians to steal the election from her.
Clinton sees polls that show 70 percent of the American people do not want Joe Biden to run for re-election.
Only 28 percent of Americans hold a favorable opinion of Vice President Kamala Harris.
Clinton knows the politically crippled Biden and Harris are not viable presidential candidates in 2024.
And that’s why Clinton is running the age-old presidential candidate playbook and hosting events for down-ballot Democrat candidates.
