At one point it was unthinkable that Hillary Clinton could stage a political comeback.
But that is no longer the case.
And Hillary Clinton said four words that let everyone know she was taking Kamala Harris’ job.
Last month Hillary Clinton raised eyebrows with her response to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis flying 50 illegal aliens to Martha’s Vineyard.
Clinton attacked DeSantis’ decision, but Clinton also said “nobody wants open borders” in a nod to the center.
“So many other Americans — I happen to believe still the majority of Americans — are good-hearted and generous and when people end up on their doorstep in need, they’re going to respond. They’ll feed them and house them and the kids in the AP Spanish class will be let out of high school so they can go and translate. That’s the kind of American spirit that we try to celebrate at the Clinton Global Initiative,” Clinton added that “nobody wants open borders who has any idea of how government and countries work.”
Former Bill Clinton strategist Dick Morris instantly knew what was going on.
In a radio interview with 770AM in New York City Morris stated that Clinton was attempting to move to the center to position herself for a 2024 presidential campaign.
“These are all signals that she is going to be the moderate candidate for president. She’s going to say after the election, ‘See, the left cost us the House and the Senate. If we stay with a left-wing candidate in 2024, we’re going to lose the White House. I’m the only one who will tack to the center and give us a chance at victory,’” Morris began.
Morris said Clinton copied the Bill Clinton playbook of “triangulation” – whereby Clinton would steal Republican issues by positioning himself between the GOP and the far-left – which allowed Clinton to win the 1992 and 1996 elections.
“Hillary is just dusting off Bill‘s playbook that I wrote for him and applying it herself this year,” Morris continued.
Morris claimed that Joe Biden was not running for re-election and the initial batch of Democrat presidential candidates would all race to the left making them all politically toxic.
At that point, Morris predicted, the Democrat Party establishment would come crawling to Clinton begging her to get into the race.
“Once Biden pulls out, the polling will show that the Democrats are leaning toward some crazy radical like [California Gov.] Gavin Newso[m], [Vermont Sen.] Bernie Sanders. Maybe even AOC herself,” Morris said, referring to progressive lightning rod Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York.
“That’s going to drive the Democratic Party leaders to go to Hillary and say, ‘Hey look. Please run again. We need you to save us from the crazy left,’” Morris declared.
Clinton taking a swipe at the pro-open borders left is not the first time Clinton whacked the base of the party.
Earlier this year Clinton knocked Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the “Squad” by warning Democrats that leaning into socialism was a political loser.
