Democrats have settled on a strategy to derail Donald Trump’s Supreme Court pick.
They have settled on a sex scandal.
And Hillary Clinton’s role in this affair will make you sick.
When Trump selected Judge Brett Kavanaugh to succeed Anthony Kennedy, the left realized their entire judicial project to impose their radical social agenda through fiat could be at risk.
Because Senate rules only require a bare majority to confirm a Supreme Court Justice, Democrats do not have the votes to block Judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation.
So Democrats have settled on trying to manufacture a scandal to take down Judge Kavanaugh.
And Hillary Clinton’s top lieutenant is leading the charge.
Brian Fallon was Clinton’s spokesman during her doomed Presidential campaign.
After her humiliating defeat, Fallon remained in Clinton’s political orbit.
And once Kennedy retired, Clinton and Fallon announced the formation of Demand Justice Now, an activist group designed to defeat whomever President Trump nominated.
Fallon and Demand Justice Now have settled on trying to make Judge Kavanaugh into a #MeToo enabler by linking him to disgraced Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Alex Kozinski.
Kozinski retired last December after multiple women accused him of sexual harassment.
Fallon claimed – without citing evidence – that Judge Kavanaugh’s clerkship for Judge Kozinski could disqualify him from being confirmed to the Supreme Court.
The Clinton aide told CNN host Chris Cuomo,
“One other thing that I think is going to be relevant, one of Brett Kavanaugh’s mentors in life and in his career as a judge is a guy by the name of Alex Kozinski who is a judge on the Ninth Circuit who had to resign in disgrace last year because of the #MeToo Movement.”
“He was accused publicly on the record by a number of female clerks for having behaved inappropriately in chambers, and he had to resign in disgrace. Brett Kavanaugh is somebody that is friends and was a mentor and personally clerked for Alex Kozinski. I think there’s going to be a lot of senators in this hearing that want to know what he knew and when he knew it about Alex Kozinski’s behavior.”
When asked to provide evidence that Kavanagh was responsible for Kozinski’s behavior, Fallon again offered nothing but unsubstantiated gossip:
“Not only was he a clerk for Alex Kozinski, I think in 1990, but Brett Kavanaugh was who was considered in the judicial world as a feeder judge for Anthony Kennedy, who he clerked for in the Supreme Court, as is Kozinski. And oftentimes, Kavanaugh would interview prospective clerks that Anthony Kennedy might have clerked for him on the Supreme Court. And Kozinski would send a lot of clerks to Brett Kavanaugh to interview for clerkships with Anthony Kennedy.”
“So, the likelihood that Brett Kavanaugh knew what was an open secret in the Ninth Circuit about Alex Kozinski’s misbehavior is very high. I think he’s going to have to answer questions about that.”
The line of attack that Kavanaugh “should have known” is the same smear tactic journalists are using against House Freedom Caucus member Jim Jordan.
Journalists are peddling accusations that he “should have known” about an Ohio State athletic trainer who was allegedly abusing wrestlers when Jordan was the assistant coach from 1986 to 1994.
But no evidence has been provided to support the idea Jordan knew about the abuse and ignored it.
The left is just using rumors and innuendo to assassinate his character.
Clinton’s group is using the same playbook to smear Judge Kavanaugh in a desperate attempt to derail his confirmation.
Given Bill Clinton’s history of sexual misconduct, it is beyond absurd for anyone connected to Hillary Clinton to be peddling gossip passed off as sexual misconduct allegations in order to destroy someone’s career.
Do you agree?
