Hillary can’t seem to catch a break in what may be the worse week of her life.
From the Uranium One deal and the Russia dossier scandals blowing up, it hasn’t been an easy week for the Clintons.
But one shocking accusation that was just thrown her way is sure to make things much worse.
The now infamous Russia dossier has without any doubt been pinned directly on Hillary Clinton and her campaign.
As we’ve reported previously, she used campaign funds to pay former British spy Christopher Steele to research and write the dossier that was leaked to the FBI and BuzzFeed.
And her use of campaign funds is now being called into question.
The Campaign Legal Center, an election law non-profit group, officials filed a complaint with the Federal Election Committee (FEC) earlier this week relating to Hillary’s campaign funds conduct in creating the dossier.
According to the group filing the complaint, Clinton’s campaign violated federal law when they “failed to accurately disclose the purpose and recipient of payments for the dossier of research alleging connections between then-candidate Donald Trump and Russia, effectively hiding these payments from public scrutiny.”
As reported by Breitbart:
“The Campaign Legal Center (CLC), a Washington, DC-based election law non-profit, filed a complaint with the Federal Election Committee (FEC) Wednesday over Hillary for America and the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) conduct in commissioning the infamous “pee-pee dossier.”
According to the CLC, the Clinton campaign and the DNC violated federal law when they “failed to accurately disclose the purpose and recipient of payments for the dossier of research alleging connections between then-candidate Donald Trump and Russia, effectively hiding these payments from public scrutiny.”
The complaint alleges:
[T]he DNC and Hillary for America reported dozens of payments totaling millions of dollars to the law firm Perkins Coie with the purpose described as “Legal Services” or “Legal Compliance
Consulting,” when in reality, those payments were earmarked for the firm Fusion GPS, with the purpose of conducting opposition research on Donald Trump.
Citing FEC statements of policy that the “purpose of disbursement” section on campaign disclosure forms “must be sufficiently specific to make the purpose of the disbursement clear,” CLC is arguing these facts constitute a violation of federal election law.”
This complaint is bad news for Hillary and will be hard for her to talk her way out of it.
She has often discounted legitimate concerns over her wrong-doings by claiming that her accusers are just right-wingers that are grasping at straws.
But it will be very difficult to claim this of the Campaign Law Center.
The group is a non-partisan group that is by no means right-leaning.
Many of their funds have come directly from left-wing billionaire George Soros, and the group is still funded by the Soros family foundation.
The group is most well-known by conservatives for playing a leading role in Lois Lerner’s IRS Tea Party scandal in 2010 and 2011, where they urged Lerner to investigate the conservative groups.
When a group such as this is coming out against someone who has received huge support from one of their major donors, something seriously bad had to have occurred.
Do you think Hillary should be investigated for her role in the Russian dossier?
