Since losing the 2016 election, Hillary Clinton has lost a lot of friends.
The once beloved Democrat became ostracized over night after losing.
While that was bad enough for her, her life is now over after a major ally just threw her under the bus.
Twenty-Five years ago, then-President Bill Clinton faced perhaps the largest political scandal in modern history.
His affair with Monica Lewinsky, and subsequent denials, eclipsed everything he did as President.
Now his entire Presidential era is known for that one act.
Despite Bill Clinton apologizing publicly for what he did, he has not given Lewinsky an apology.
Not only that, but he doesn’t believe he owes her one.
And it wasn’t just Bill who handled the situation badly, his wife Hillary was known to have gone on the attack after the accusations came out.
She dismissed the entire ordeal as a “rightwing conspiracy theory,” and even attacked Lewinsky herself.
While a lot of Hillary and Bill’s friends came to accept the way they treated Lewinsky, not all of them did.
Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe is one of those who has not accepted what they did.
McAuliffe is a long-time friend of both Bill and Hillary Clinton, being friends at the time of his impeachment scandal.
He stated in an interview with MSNBC’s Kasie Hunt that the way the Clinton’s treated Monica Lewinsky was “horrible.”
The Virginia governor stated that 25 years ago he told the Clintons the way they handled it was horrible, and that he sticks by those statements today.
McAuliffe felt that if the scandal had occurred today, instead of 25 years ago, it would have been handled with “different arguments,” specifically using the ones used in the #MeToo movement.
The #MeToo movement has served to take down several very powerful people, most notably movie producer Harvey Weinstein, as well as former Sen. Al Franken.
Bill Clinton clearly acted very inappropriately, using his position of power to engage in sexual activities with Lewinsky.
And Bill has a long history of similar, and oftentimes more shocking, accusations being thrown at him.
A number of women have been very vocal about their claims of sexual harassment, and assault at the hands of the former President.
Many of those women even stated that Hillary Clinton knew about the actions her husband took, and actively worked to silence their voices.
President Donald Trump gave many of those women a voice during the 2016 Presidential election, even inviting a number of them to a Presidential debate in which Bill Clinton was in attendance to.
Despite the left’s insistence on taking claims of sexual misconduct by powerful people seriously, they didn’t seem to care very much about the accusations regarding Bill Clinton.
Even with them on the national stage, with Donald Trump’s backing, much of the media considered the claims against Bill Clinton as a malicious conspiracy theory to harm her husband.
While McAuliffe has been vocal about the Clinton’s actions during the Monica Lewinsky situation, which many have given him credit for, he has still remained silent about the other accusations Bill Clinton has faced.
Do you think the women claiming that Bill Clinton sexually assaulted them should be listened to?
