Ilhan Omar’s spent her entire career in Congress pushing the envelope.
Democrats looked away every time.
But Ilhan Omar just crossed a big line that forced Democrats to make this major choice.
Ilhan Omar tweeted out a video of her questioning Secretary of State Antony Blinken where Omar tweeted out that she considered Israel and the United States on the same level as the murderous terrorist groups Hamas and the Taliban.
“We must have the same level of accountability and justice for all victims of crimes against humanity. We have seen unthinkable atrocities committed by the U.S., Hamas, Israel, Afghanistan, and the Taliban,” Omar posted on social media.
Omar’s been making anti-Semitic comments for years accusing secret Jewish money of controlling politicians like puppets.
Democrats would condemn anti-Semitism in general, but would avoid calling Omar out by name.
But Omar equating Israel with terrorists that want to commit genocide against Jews was too much for a group of Jewish Democrats in Congress.
Twelve Jewish Democrats led by Illinois Congressman Brad Schneider rebuked Omar for her anti-Semitism.
“Equating the United States and Israel to Hamas and the Taliban is as offensive as it is misguided. Ignoring the differences between democracies governed by the rule of law and contemptible organizations that engage in terrorism at best discredits one’s intended argument and at worst reflects deep-seated prejudice,” Schneider wrote.
In a development that should have surprised no one, Ilhan Omar played the victim card and accused her critics of bigotry.
Omar played the bingo card of social justice and identity politics buzzwords claiming her Jewish colleagues were harassing and silencing her.
“It’s shameful for colleagues who call me when they need my support to now put out a statement asking for ‘clarification’ and not just call. The Islamophobic tropes in this statement are offensive. The constant harassment & silencing from the signers of this letter is unbearable,” Omar wrote.
Omar cited the America-hating International Criminal Court investigating the U.S. and Israel as evidence she had a leg to stand on in making her anti-Semitic comments.
“Citing an open case against Israel, US, Hamas & Taliban in the ICC isn’t comparison or from ‘deeply seated prejudice’. You might try to undermine these investigations or deny justice to their victims but history has thought us that the truth can’t be hidden or silenced forever,” Omar added.
During the Hamas’ latest attack on Israel, videos from Democrat-run cities went viral showing pro-Palestinian mobs harassing and attacking innocent Jewish Americans.
Critics contend that Omar’s anti-Semitic comments represent a growing trend on the left where the Democrat Party turns a blind eye to violence and hatred against Israel and Jews.
Omar’s Jewish colleagues begged her to knock it off because they believe the violence they see in the streets of Democrat-run cities is downstream from Omar’s open anti-Semitism.
