Ilhan Omar can’t go a week without being caught up in a new scandal.
Because of this, her approval rating is at a remarkable 9%.
And things just went from bad to worse for Omar, and now she’s done for.
Since arriving in the United States from Somalia, Ilhan Omar has had an interesting relationship history.
She has been married three times, to two different men.
Omar initially married Ahmed Hirsi, and then divorced him to marry Ahmed Elmi, only to divorce him and marry Hirsi yet again.
More troubling is that there are many indications that Elmi is her own brother, and that their marriage was a ploy to commit immigration fraud, so he could gain U.S. citizenship.
During her marriage with Elmi, there’s been mountains of evidence that she was actually living with Hirsi.
The most damning of that evidence is that she filed joint tax returns with Hirsi for two years, while married to Elmi.
That on its own is a crime in her state of Minnesota.
But now she may have a completely new lover, who is married just like she is.
There are allegations that she is in a relationship with Tim Mynett, a Democrat consultant that has received $223,000 from Omar’s campaign.
According to divorce papers, Mynett confessed to his wife that he was “romantically involved with and in love with” Omar during their marriage.
A complaint filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) alleges that Omar used campaign funds to pursue the affair.
The $229,000 sent to Mynett went to his company, E. Street Group, LLC for fundraising consulting from August 2018 through June 2019.
But according to FEC records, payments began appearing as “travel expenses” on April 1st.
The April 1st date is especially important because Mynett allegedly admitted to the affair less than a week later on April 7.
Mynett’s wife, Beth, alleges that her husband’s “more recent travel and long work hours now appear to be more related to his affair with Rep. Omar than with his actual work commitments.”
In total, Omar spent $21,547 to cover travel expenses for E. Street Group during the months of April, May, and June.
But the FEC complaint isn’t all she has to worry about.
Now the conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch is filing an ethics complaint with the House of Representatives, arguing that her affair with one of her consultants is an ethics violation.
“It looks like on the surface that she used campaign finance funds to benefit her paramour,” said Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch.
Judicial Watch previously filed an ethics probe over allegations that Omar married her brother to commit immigration fraud.
They state that this reporting warrants another investigation.
“The new reporting is additional reason for an ethics investigation,” Fitton said.
These investigations could end up completely destroying Ilhan Omar’s career for good.
