Ilhan Omar is one of the most controversial members of Congress in American history.
The freshmen Democrat constantly finds a new political landmine to step on.
And Omar left Americans red with rage when she used these two words to describe the 9/11 terrorists.
Last month, Omar delivered a controversial keynote speech at the Council of American Islamic Relations (CAIR) fundraiser in Los Angeles.
During her remarks, Omar described the 9/11 terrorists who flew the planes into the World Trade Center and Pentagon – and whose attack on the U.S. Capitol was only stopped by the sacrifice of the heroes on Flight 93 – as “some people” that did “something.”
“CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something, and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties,” Omar ranted.
The murderous terrorists who carried out the 9/11 attacks were not “some people.”
They were radical Islamic terrorists who murdered 3,000 innocent Americans.
And they did not just do “something.”
The murderous jihadists carried out an act of religious fanaticism that was the deadliest terrorist attack in American history.
But given the setting, critics believe Omar’s remarks should not have come as a surprise.
CAIR is one of the most controversial political advocacy groups in the United States.
Many Americans believe CAIR is an organization sympathetic to terrorists based on its leadership and associations.
For instance, Hassan Shibly, the chief executive officer for CAIR-Florida – who once declared that “Hezbollah is absolutely not a terrorist organization” – spoke at this fundraiser alongside Omar.
And Hussam Ayloush – who serves as the executive director of CAIR-LA and hosted the fundraiser – compared American Jews who fight in the Israeli army to Muslim Americans who signed up to fight for ISIS during an April 2018 speech.
“Do you know how many hundreds of Jewish American kids are recruited to join the Israeli occupation army?” Ayloush exclaimed. “Hundreds. Every year,” he said, accusing them of joining an army that engages in “war crimes.”
“No one has ever established a [countering violent extremism] program to see why normal American kids leave their homes to become part of an army committing war crimes,” he said.
“They go to the American Muslim community, although again and again we’ve seen the number of Muslims who join extremist groups like ISIS and Al-Qaeda is very, very, very tiny. Very tiny.”
Ilhan Omar cannot afford any more controversies.
Democrats are already whispering about recruiting a primary challenger to try and oust her from office before she inflicts any more political damage on the party.
National Democrats know that any Democrat can win her district, they just need someone who will loyally vote with Nancy Pelosi without causing the political headaches.
And after her disgraceful comments about the 9/11 terrorists and their murderous acts, Omar has crossed the point of no return.
We will keep you up to date on any new developments in this ongoing story.
