Ilhan Omar is one of the most controversial Democrats in America.
The freshmen Congresswoman is tied up in a series of endless scandals because of her bigotry and anti-American views.
But now Omar may have gone too far by pushing a lie about Jesus that will leave your jaw on the ground.
Most of the crises surrounding Omar result from her reckless social media use.
Her latest firestorm is no different.
Omar retweeted Southern Methodist University Professor Omar Suleiman who falsely claimed that Jesus was actually a Palestinian.
Professor Omar wrote, “I was once asked by a relative who is a Palestinian Christian why the Christian right in America largely supports their oppression. “Don’t they know we’re Christian too? Do they even consider us human? Don’t they know Jesus was a Palestinian?”
This lie flies in the face of all the historical evidence.
Jesus was born to Mary and Joseph in Bethlehem, which was in Israel during the time of the Roman occupation.
Rabbi Abraham Cooper – who works as an associate dean for the Simon Wiesenthal Center – explained to the Jerusalem Post why Omar retweeting a claim that Jesus was an Arab was historically ignorant.
The Jerusalem Post exclusively reported on their interview:
“The claim that Jesus was a Palestinian is so bizarre that the question becomes what one gains by making that allegation,” Cooper told The Jerusalem Post. “For people who have no theological or historical rooting, the idea that Jesus was a Palestinian creates a new narrative for Palestinian history, which otherwise does not date back very far. If one can say that Jesus was Palestinian 2,000 years ago, then that means the Jews are occupying Palestinian land.”
Cooper also told the Post that anti-Semites like Ilhan Omar promote the lie that Jesus was Palestinian in order to denigrate Jews by blaming them for killing Jesus because he was Palestinian.
The Post continues:
“Cooper said that for people who ‘don’t like Jews to begin with, it is a deadly combination of the Jews killed Jesus and now they are doing the same to his progeny,’ he continued. ‘From a political and propaganda point of view, there is something to be gained.’”
This is the latest example of Omar’s ugly anti-Semitic social media behavior.
Omar’s old tweets where she claimed Israel “hypnotized” the rest of the world were just the tip of the iceberg.
After repeated anti-Semitic tweets and statements, Omar’s actions can no longer be excused as a mistake or simple unawareness of how one’s words are perceived.
They are deliberate provocations and attacks on Jews and Israel.
Anti-Semitism used to be a fringe political ideology confined to cranks and bigots in the darkest corners of the internet.
But thanks to Ilhan Omar, anti-Semitism reached mainstream acceptance by the fact that a high-profile elected official who is revered by the Democrat Party base openly spews anti-Semitic garbage without any consequences.
