Former FBI Director James Comey is on the hot seat.
Comey was hauled in front of investigators and questioned about corruption in the FBI.
Now all hell is breaking loose.
Comey is at the center of the possible criminal investigation into former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.
McCabe is a Deep State partisan who supervised the Clinton email investigation after his wife received $700,000 in campaign contributions from allies of Clinton crony Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe in 2015.
The Inspector General report into the Clinton email investigation found McCabe repeatedly lied to investigators about press leaks he engineered during the case.
McCabe was fired and the report was the basis for a criminal referral to the United States Attorney’s office in Washington, D.C.
Comey’s testimony could land McCabe behind bars because McCabe testified that Comey had authorized the leaks.
But the former FBI Director claims that is not the case.
McCabe’s attorney responded with a statement that read, “A little more than a month ago, we confirmed that we had been advised that a criminal referral to the U.S. Attorney’s Office had been made regarding Mr. McCabe. We said at that time that we were confident that, unless there is inappropriate pressure from high levels of the Administration, the U.S. Attorney’s Office would conclude that it should decline to prosecute. Our view has not changed.”
Comey testifying against McCabe is the first crack in the Deep State’s unity.
And the President and his supporters contend McCabe is a central figure in the Deep State plot to sabotage the administration.
Text messages between anti-trump FBI agents Peter Stzrok and Lisa Page stated that the meeting when the Russian investigation was discussed as “an insurance policy” against Trump winning the election took place in McCabe’s office.
Trump noted this fact the day McCabe was fired by saying McCabe was smack dab in the middle of this scheme: “Andrew McCabe FIRED, a great day for the hard working men and women of the FBI – A great day for Democracy. Sanctimonious James Comey was his boss and made McCabe look like a choirboy. He knew all about the lies and corruption going on at the highest levels of the FBI!”
If Comey turns on McCabe, McCabe may flip on Comey.
McCabe may look at cooperation as a means to save himself from a long prison sentence and spill the beans on the corruption Comey oversaw while he was running the FBI.
For months, Trump and his supporters have stewed as the Justice Department sat back and let Robert Mueller stage a silent coup while giving a free pass to the criminal behavior of the President’s enemies.
That is now changing.
Prosecuting McCabe could be the first domino that falls, setting off a chain reaction of events that will lead to the collapse of the Deep State.
