Secretary of Defense James “Mad Dog” Mattis did the unthinkable.
He walked into the White House carrying one piece of paper.
And when he handed it to Donald Trump, all hell broke loose.
Donald Trump and Secretary of Defense James Mattis were rumored to be at odds.
There were reports that Mattis secretly harbored globalist views and was more of a moderate.
For instance, Mattis slow-walked Donald Trump’s common sense order to ban transsexuals from serving in the armed forces.
Trump believed that this left-wing social engineering and its nonsense idea that you can pick and choose your gender based on the time of day had no place in the military.
Mattis disagreed.
Mattis also supported Obama’s job-killing Paris Global Warming Accords.
The President rightly withdrew America from a deal that stole trillions of dollars in wealth and millions of jobs from Americans that were redistributed to the third world.
But the final straw was Trump withdrawing American troops from Syria and finally ending Barack Obama’s illegal war.
Mattis marched over to the White House and pleaded with the President to continue Barack Obama’s policy of forever wars in the Middle East.
Trump reasoned that the American people elected him to put their interests first.
That led to Mattis’ stunning decision to resign.
The President announced the move on social media and gave the highly decorated Mattis a graceful sendoff, highlighting his work to rebuild the military after Barack Obama had spent eight years weakening America’s fighting force.
“General Jim Mattis will be retiring, with distinction, at the end of February, after having served my Administration as Secretary of Defense for the past two years. During Jim’s tenure, tremendous progress has been made, especially with respect to the purchase of new fighting equipment. General Mattis was a great help to me in getting allies and other countries to pay their share of military obligations. A new Secretary of Defense will be named shortly. I greatly thank Jim for his service!” Trump wrote.
Then Mattis released his letter of resignation, and he outrageously attacked the President for putting America First in his foreign policy.
“Mad Dog” Mattis revealed he supported endless wars in the Middle East and Obama’s Iran nuclear deal.
“One core belief I have always held is that our strength as a nation is inextricably linked to the strength of our unique and comprehensive system of alliances and partnerships. While the US remains the indispensable nation in the free world, we cannot protect our interests or serve that role effectively without maintaining strong alliances and showing respect to those allies. Like you, I have said from the beginning that the armed forces of the United States should not be the policeman of the world. Instead, we must use all tools of American power to provide for the common defense, including providing effective leadership to our alliances. NATO’s 29 democracies demonstrated that strength in their commitment to fighting alongside us following the 9-11 attack on America. The Defeat-ISIS coalition of 74 nations is further proof,” Mattis wrote in his letter of resignation.
Trump supporters were stunned.
Mattis was never onboard with Donald Trump’s agenda.
But Mattis is right to say that Trump deserves a Secretary of Defense who supports his America First policies.
And while Trump supporters cheered the selection of Mattis, the President is finally getting a team in place that supports his vision.
