Jen Psaki declared war on Fox News Channel.
This decision is not working well at all for Psaki.
And Jen Psaki spoke one sentence about Fox News that had all hell breaking loose.
Jen Psaki is on her way out as press secretary as Psaki is set to leave next month to host a show for MSNBC.
Critics contend Psaki’s arrangement to stay on as press secretary while she hammers out a deal with MSNBC is highly unethical.
Psaki crossed over into even more ethically troubled waters during a live show of the far-left Pod Save America podcast in Washington, D.C.
The subject of Psaki’s back and forth in the briefing room with Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy came up.
“Peter Doocy is a stupid son of a bitch or does he just play one on TV?” one of the co-hosts asked Psaki.
Psaki – who is still a public servant on the taxpayer payroll – attacked a reporter that asks tough questions of the administration as a corporate puppet.
“He works for a network that provides people with questions that, nothing personal to any individual including Peter Doocy, but might make anyone sound like a stupid son of a bitch,” Psaki answered.
When Joe Biden smeared Doocy as a “stupid son of a bitch” last year Doocy took the high road.
In an appearance on Fox News Doocy made it clear Biden never apologized for attacking Doocy, but that Doocy would continue to do his job and hold Joe Biden accountable.
“After years of clips of the president and kind of mixing it up on the campaign trail and during the transition, and here at the White House, within about an hour of that exchange, he called my cell phone and he said, ‘It’s nothing personal, pal.’ And we went back and forth and we were talking ‘bout just kind of moving forward and I made sure to tell him that I’m always going to try to ask something different than what everybody else is asking. And he said, ‘You’ve got to.’ And that’s a quote from the president. So I’ll keep doing it,” Doocy said on Fox News at the time.
Doocy’s colleagues at Fox News came to his defense.
Former White House correspondent John Roberts blasted Psaki for falsely claiming that Fox News executives fed Doocy questions.
“Note to @PressSec . @pdoocy makes the decisions on what topics he wants to quiz you on, and develops the questions himself,” Roberts wrote on social media.
“His philosophy is a basic tenet of journalism. Comfort the afflicted, and afflict the comfortable. If that makes all of us ‘stupid s.o.b.s’, so be it,” Roberts added.
Fox News Channel also stuck up for their White House correspondent.
“In his role as White House correspondent, Peter Doocy’s job is to elicit truth from power for the American public. His questions are his own, he is a terrific reporter and we are extremely proud of his work,” a Fox News statement read.
