The so-called Equality Act isn’t about helping equality, it’s about forcing all Americans to give into the left’s radical views of sex, gender, and human nature.
It would erase women’s rights if passed because any man claiming to be a woman would have access to female-only spaces.
If the Equality Act becomes law,healthcare professionals would be required by law to perform sex-reassignment procedures or offer related hormone treatment. Also the refusal to perform an abortion would be “pregnancy discrimination.”
Under this law, a doctor refusing to perform a late-term abortion on a viable, healthy fetus while the mother was in labor could be considered “pregnancy discrimination.”
It would be illegal for a doctor to refuse to give minors hormone blockers even though the American College of Pediatricians reports that 80 to 95 percent of pre-pubertal children with gender dysphoria will experience resolution by adulthood.
There are many medical professionals in America who would stop practicing medicine rather than go against their conscience and the science.
It’s a terrible law that could cause doctors and nurses to quit the field, leading to shortages of medical services.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was asked by a Catholic news organization whether President Joe Biden supports forcing doctors to violate their conscience but she dodged the question.
“There’s pro-life groups right now very concerned about the phrase ‘pregnancy discrimination’ in the Equality Act,” EWTN reporter Owen Jensen said. “You’re familiar with that I’m sure, that it would force doctors to perform abortions even if it violates their conscience.
“There are also concerns the bill would force doctors to perform gender transition surgeries and sterilizations again, even if violates their conscience, what does the president, President Biden, say about those concerns?” Jensen asked.
“The president’s been a longtime supporter of Roe v. Wade,” Psaki responded. “It has been his consistent belief that should be law and he will fight to continue to protect that as being law.”
“The conscience concern is not a concern of his?” Jensen pressed.
Psaki wouldn’t answer the question instead referred Jensen to the future HHS secretary.
In the past Jensen asked Psaki whether President Joe Biden would use taxpayer money to fund abortions.
Psaki refused to answer the question, saying instead that Biden was a “devout Catholic” and added that he goes to church.
Being a devout Catholic didn’t stop Biden from signing an executive order allowing Americans’ taxpayer dollars to fund abortions around the globe.
