But more than one year after the riot on January 6 the Justice Department refused to file phony criminal charges against Trump.
This enraged Joe Biden.
Biden’s reportedly told associates he believes Trump should be prosecuted and that Attorney General Garland is moving too slowly in the investigation into Trump.
The New York Times reported:
As recently as late last year, Mr. Biden confided to his inner circle that he believed former President Donald J. Trump was a threat to democracy and should be prosecuted, according to two people familiar with his comments. And while the president has never communicated his frustrations directly to Mr. Garland, he has said privately that he wanted Mr. Garland to act less like a ponderous judge and more like a prosecutor who is willing to take decisive action over the events of Jan. 6.
This leak makes any attempt to prosecute Trump on the BS charges the Justice Department would file impossible to win a conviction on.
That’s because Biden’s comments allow Trump’s lawyers to plant the seeds in the minds of any potential jury that Joe Biden ordered the criminal prosecution of Donald Trump for political reasons.
