Joe Biden thought he had the perfect candidate that was right for the job.
Now he isn’t so sure.
Joe Biden could be facing a huge backlash with his vice president pick.
It’s clear that Joe Biden wants to make himself more popular with his vice presidential choice.
Given Joe Biden’s age and mental awareness, it would probably be best for him to pick the person most qualified for the job, but Biden doesn’t want to find the person most qualified; instead he wants a minority woman.
Politico fueled the rumors that Harris had been picked as vice president when they mistakenly published that Harris was Biden’s running mate on July 28th due to a “technical error.”
Harris, in some ways, will help Biden since Harris’s history as a prosecutor will make many Americans feel that Democrats are on the side of law and order.
But Harris’s history as a prosecutor is also a liability for Democrats.
Tulsi Gabbard crushed Harris’s campaign when she told voters about it in the debates.
“She [Harris] blocked evidence that would have freed an innocent man from death row until the courts forced her to do so,” Gabbard mentioned. “She kept people in prison beyond their sentences to use them as cheap labor for the state of California.”
Gabbard also mentioned the fact that Harris put people in jail for illegal drug use while she herself was using marijuana illegally herself.
This record is still in younger voters’ minds.
Campus Reform asked students how they would feel about Kamala Harris as Vice President.
“It’s difficult for me to say. Obviously, I’m not a person of color so it’s especially difficult for me to say. I would say we should probably not have Kamala Harris,” one student added.
“I know Kamala Harris has that history as a prosecutor…what America needs right now is someone who is progressive and adaptive to change,” another student added. “I don’t think the vice presidential nominee should have that kind of history.”
Other students went even further and felt that not only Harris, but all former law enforcement, should stop seeking office.
“Given a lot of backlash and injustices that have been revealed, I don’t think it’s the right time for law enforcement officers to solidify or expand their positions,” a student commented.
Joe Biden is trying to play his campaign both ways.
He’s trying to pretend to be a moderate while supporting radical socialist policies.
Biden has been able to get away with it because he’s keeping a low profile in his basement.
His vice presidential pick will force him to choose a side which could lay him open to some serious backlash from within his own party.
