Joe Biden is embarrassing his campaign when he goes out in public.
But they know that the numbers aren’t looking good for him.
Joe Biden just admitted he was losing in this key swing state.
The polls are showing that Trump is doing well among Latino voters in Florida.
“Last week, an NBC News/Marist poll showed Mr. Trump with a narrow edge over Mr. Biden among Latino voters in Florida, earning 50% of their support compared with 46% for Mr. Biden,” the Wall Street Journal reported.
That would put Biden well behind Clinton’s exit-poll numbers in 2016 which is concerning to Democrats as Trump carried the state in 2016.
Biden is trying everything possible to change the poll numbers and win over Hispanic voters at a Florida event.
He created a viral moment for himself, but not in the right way, by coming out and instead of starting his speech, playing the hit Spanish song “Despacito” from his phone while he swayed gently to the music.
“I just have one thing to say. Hang on,” Biden said at his campaign event in Kissimmee, Florida, on Tuesday at an event celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.
“All right!” Biden said after he finished playing the music. “I’ll tell you what, if I had the talent of any one of these people, I’d be — I’d be elected president by acclamation.”
The moment wasn’t a good look for Biden as it came across as pandering, inauthentic and old.
He’s trying too hard to be relatable and it’s not endearing him to anyone.
Biden also tried comparing Trump to Fidel Castro.
“Trump has more in common with Castro than with Churchill,” Biden said. “Look who he admires. He admires Putin, he admires Xi, he admires everyone who behaves in an authoritarian way. I am the exact opposite. I have faith in the democratic system.”
Bernie Sanders was openly and consistently complimentary toward Castro and even mentioned how much he admired Castro’s literacy program during the current Democrat primary, and Biden himself has problems trying to compare Trump to Castro.
“The Obama Administration, where Biden was second-in-command, took great pains to normalize relations with the Communist country. The Trump Administration rolled back those changes, reinstituted sanctions and cut off increased economic activity between the United States and Cuba.” The Daily Wire pointed out.
Biden has promised that if he is elected president, he will try and return to a friendlier relationship with Cuba.
Many Latinos in Florida fled Castro’s oppressive regime and are wary of Democrats’ friendliness with Cuba.
“In large part, I would go back,” Biden told a Miami CBS affiliate in April. “I’d still insist they keep the commitments they said they would make when we, in fact, set the policy in place.”
