The former Vice President decided it was time to venture out from his basement headquarters and give an actual speech.
He chose Pittsburgh as the site of what many were anticipating would show once and for all that Biden has what it takes to beat Donald Trump.
But Joe Biden left his basement, gave his speech, and attacked Trump, and instantly regretted it.
Many Democrat activists, party leaders, political observers and consultants have been quietly questioning whether former Vice President Joe Biden has the mental capacity to effectively challenge Donald Trump this year.
That’s why they were nervously anticipating Biden’s departure from his basement to give a speech in Pittsburgh.
It turns out they had every right to be nervous.
Biden gave a stumbling, bumbling speech in PA where he tried to attack Trump on rioting and coronavirus and proved again why he shouldn’t leave the basement.
Biden struggled to even describe the impact the Chinese-spread coronavirus has had on Americans, let alone land the blame on Trump, which was his main goal.
This speech by the former Delaware Senator was a rare public appearance by him andwas his first trip out of the basement of his Delaware home since the Democratic National Convention ended.
But the trip was a disaster, almost from the beginning of Biden’s remarks.
At one point in the speech, Biden triedto explain just how many people have died from the Chinese-createdvirus, but failed, badly.
“COVID has taken this year, just since the outbreak, has taken more than 100 year – look, here’s … The lives, it’s just, it’s … I mean, think about it. More lives this year than any other year, for the past hundred years,” Biden said.
Most were left just shaking their heads after this incredibly sad attempt to lay the deaths of Americans at President Trump’s feet.
In fact, most had no idea what Biden was really trying to get across.
And many leading Democrats and D.C. political observers were shocked by the display and worried about Biden’s mental state.
Some even suggested it was cruel for the Democrats to keep Biden as their nominee since he is so obviously mentally impaired.
The noticeably short, very incoherent speech by Biden was yet another sign that the Democrats are facing a real uphill battle against President Trump.
When added to the new poll numbers coming out, the Democrats could be facing an electoral blowout this November.
The latest numbers show Trump closing the gap in almost every segment of American voters, and even in some Democrat strongholds.
Recently, Trump received the endorsements of six Democrat Minnesota mayors, and he has even pulled ahead of Biden in the key battleground state of Michigan.
Should Trump win reelection in November, many will look back at Biden’s Pittsburgh speech as the beginning of the end for the Democrats.
Maybe it’s time for Democrat party leaders to rethink their nominee and replace him with someone else.
Not just to increase the Democrats’ chances in November, but also to end the cruelty for Joe Biden, and let him have some quality of life away from politics, and the public.
