Joe Biden’s corruption in Ukraine is at the center of the President’s defense against the impeachment witch hunt.
President Trump argued that he was concerned about corruption in Ukraine and that Joe Biden blackmailing the former President into firing a prosecutor that had been investigating his son’s company was a legitimate line of inquiry.
And now Joe Biden made this game-changing confession about impeachment that just changed everything.
As the Senate impeachment trial of Donald Trump kicked off, Democrats made their goal for the trial winning the ability to call new witnesses and subpoena documents from the administration.
Democrats know there is zero chance of an acquittal so Adam Schiff, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer want to drag the trial out to muddy the waters to try and deny the President a chance to correctly state that the Senate exonerated him from House Democrats’ bogus charges.
As the first day of the trial endlessly dragged on, it dawned on Democrats that their partisan circus alienated Republicans so some Senators floated the idea of trade.
Democrat Senators leaked to the Amazon Washington Post that they were willing to entertain trading the ability to call former National Security Advisor John Bolton for the Republicans dragging Hunter Biden to the witness stand.
However none other than Joe Biden promptly popped this trial balloon.
Responding to a voter’s question at a town hall event Biden declared there would be no deals and neither he nor Hunter Biden would testify.
“The reason why I would not make the deal — the bottom line is this is a constitutional issue. And we’re not going to turn it into a farce, into some kind of political theater,” Biden began.
“They are trying to turn it into political theater,” the former Vice President continued. “But I want no part of being any part of that. And I have no problem, as you’ll find out the rest of this campaign, debating Trump, debating the majority leader, debating Lindsey Graham, debating any of these guys. I don’t have any problem.”
Adam Schiff quickly echoed Biden’s rejection of any “witness reciprocity.”
“This isn’t like some fantasy football trade as I said yesterday. This isn’t we’ll offer you this if you give us that. We’ll offer you a witness that is irrelevant and immaterial, who has no relevant testimony but a witness that will allow us to smear a presidential candidate if you want to get a legitimate witness,” Schiff raged.
Democrats claim that if Donald Trump has nothing to hide then he should allow Mick Mulvaney and John Bolton to testify.
Hunter Biden’s shady business dealings and Joe Biden’s pressuring Ukraine to accept a quid pro quo to fire a prosecutor in exchange for a billion dollars in aid is directly relevant to Donald Trump’s defense.
If Biden insists he did nothing wrong then he should have no problem if he or his son are called to explain their actions.
