Donald Trump announced his re-election campaign.
But Trump immediately found out some bad news.
And Joe Biden pulled this dirty trick to ban Trump from running in 2024.
Attorney General Merrick Garland carried out Joe Biden’s wishes by appointing Obama prosecutor Jack Smith to serve as special counsel in the investigations into Donald Trump.
Currently the Biden administration is investigating Trump over a Democrat librarian’s complaints about Trump possessing documents from his presidency and a massive witch hunt pushing a convoluted and dubious theory that Trump contesting the 2020 election was somehow sedition.
Smith embarrassed the Department of Justice with partisan prosecutions of Republicans such as former Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell.
Smith’s prosecution of McDonnell was so partisan and abusive that the Supreme Court threw it out on a 9-0 vote.
Garland claimed it was necessary to appoint a special counsel because of Trump’s declared candidacy and Biden’s stated interest in running.
“Based on recent developments, including the former President’s announcement that he is a candidate for President in the next election, and the sitting President’s stated intention to be a candidate as well, I have concluded that it is in the public interest to appoint a special counsel,” Garland declared. “Such an appointment underscores the Department’s commitment to both independence and accountability in particularly sensitive matters. It also allows prosecutors and agents to continue their work expeditiously, and to make decisions indisputably guided only by the facts and the law.”
“I will ensure that the Special Counsel receives the resources to conduct this work quickly and completely,” Garland added. “Given the work done to date and Mr. Smith’s prosecutorial experience, I am confident that this appointment will not slow the completion of these investigations.”
If any of this were true Garland would have to appoint a special counsel to investigate Hunter Biden given Biden’s stated interest in running.
Smith understood why he was appointed and tried to gaslight the public into thinking Smith is some kind of objective prosecutor.
“I intend to conduct the assigned investigations, and any prosecutions that may result from them, independently and in the best traditions of the Department of Justice,” Smith declared. “The pace of the investigations will not pause or flag under my watch. I will exercise independent judgment and will move the investigations forward expeditiously and thoroughly to whatever outcome the facts and the law dictate.”
The Robert Mueller witch hunt went nowhere in proving Trump colluded with the Russians.
But it succeeded in paralyzing and distracting the Trump administration through a strategy of prosecution by leak whereby the partisan Democrats Mueller employed leaked tantalizing tidbits to sycophantic activists in the corporate media.
These leaks fed a false narrative that the walls were closing in and Mueller was waiting to drop the hammer on Trump for conspiring with Russia in grand fashion.
Smith’s job is similar.
The point of appointing Smith is to bog down Trump’s re-election campaign with leaks that will allow reporters to avoid covering Trump’s campaign and message to voters and instead paint Trump as “scandal-plagued” since the idea of a return to the drama is the biggest negative voters have about a second Trump administration.
