Democrats and the corporate media seized on the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse to advance their political agenda.
The direction came from the very top.
And Joe Biden said two words about Kyle Rittenhouse that will make your blood boil.
Last August, Kyle Rittenhouse allegedly shot three Black Lives Matter rioters – killing two of them – after the rioters attacked Rittenhouse and pulled a gun on him.
Democrats and the media pounced and exploited the episode to advance the baseless conspiracy theory that an army of white supremacist Trump supporters was the greatest terrorist threat facing the nation.
One month after the attack Joe Biden tweeted out a video falsely claiming Rittenhouse was a white supremacist.
On September 30, 2020, Biden tweeted accompanying the video, “There’s no other way to put it: the President of the United States refused to disavow white supremacists on the debate stage last night.”
During the trial it became clear that the corporate media lied to the public.
Few outlets bothered to report at the time that the men Rittenhouse shot – one of whom was a convicted child predator – were all white and instead led Americans to believe Rittenhouse was a racist vigilante shooting unarmed black protestors.
Joe Biden helped feed this lie with his tweet.
In a White House press briefing Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy grilled press secretary Jen Psaki about Biden smearing Rittenhouse with a falsehood about Rittenhouse being a white supremacist.
“Why did President Biden suggest that Kyle Rittenhouse, on trial in Kenosha, is a white supremacist?” Doocy asked.
A visibly uncomfortable Psaki tried to duck the question.
“So Peter, what I’m not going to speak to right now is anything about an ongoing trial nor the president’s past comments,” Psaki began.
Psaki then falsely accused Rittenhouse of acting like a vigilante and tried to blame Rittenhouse – and not the left-wing rioters that attacked Rittenhouse – for the shooting.
“What I can reiterate for you is the president’s view that we shouldn’t have, broadly speaking, vigilantes patrolling our communities with assault weapons. We shouldn’t have opportunists corrupting peaceful protests by rioting and burning down the communities they claim to represent anywhere in the country,” Psaki added. “As you know, closing arguments in this particular case, which I’m not speaking to, I’m just making broad comments about his own view. There’s an ongoing trial. We’re awaiting a verdict. Beyond that, I’m not going to speak to any individuals or this case.”
Doocy pushed back noting that Rittenhouse’s mother went on Sean Hannity’s TV program and accused Biden of defaming her son.
Psaki wanted no part of answering that question and dodged for a second time.
“I just have nothing more to speak to an ongoing case where the closing arguments were just made,” Psaki concluded.
